I couldn't watch the game and comment on here Havent mastered 2 windows open at the same time on my phone yet It took about 30 mins to find a site that I could watch in some sort of mode that didnt freeze
Not sure I like what I'm seeing from Newcastle.... there's no real threat and just lacking any real quality anywhere in fwd areas. Tonali looks awful so far, Joelinton miles off the pace, there's a huge issue at left back, schar is injured and the best player they've got is a 17 year old. Newcastle need to bring in some proper players they've overloaded the squad with safe, dull and easy to manage players. Heading for a long season without bringing in some flair in all areas.
"Best player they've got" ?? Should it not be "best player we've got" I wonder at times who you support
Miley was very impressive in both games mind and made the big name players look useless. I'm being unfair because you can't read into these games, but I can only comment on what I'm seeing. I just feel like Newcastle need some really hurtful players out there if they want to stay in the top 6 ... it just feels more of the same bland safe signings have been brought in. Tonali really has looked awful.
Trev wants to know if they are sash windows, because he's having difficulty opening two at once as well.
Thought Miley looked class last night, was easily our best player and looked comfortable playing against experienced pro's. Looks like he will be some player going forwards and sounds as though the club have decided to keep him around the first team this season which is the right shout! Tonali - still think he is struggling to get to grips with what's needed for him but first time he's really played in the 3 in midfield (instead of a double pivot) with the majority of the first team so far so there's time for him - looked much better when he dropped into Brunos "6" role. TBH I'd be using him in cups and as a sub in the league to rotate with Bruno, with Joelinton/Willock on the left and Anderson/Longstaff/Miley on the right. Think it could be, a bit like Bruno and Gordon, that Eddie won't chuck him straight in to the deep end before he's had a chance to adjust properly. Schar pulling up is a worry - Botman did ok in RCB but still think we need a RCB to cover for Schar (unless Lascelles has been "Eddied" and has a blinding season). Other than that Gordon and Miggy looked good on the wings, thought Isak and Joelinton looked a bit tired, Alex Murphy looked tidy but still a bit raw - could do with a loan to Championship team or similar. Nick Pope though, what a save from the big man at the end, he is an absolute steal at £10m! All in all another good preseason work out with lots of first team players getting 75-90 mins in the legs which can only bode well. Looks like Eddie is settling on a starting XI and Cup XI in these last 4 preseason games, be very interested to see how the "second" XI get on vs Brighton on Saturday and then the two squads for the Sela cup next weekend before we start the season vs Villa. Predicted line up vs Brighton: Pope Manquillo Lacselles Burn/Botman (45 each) Target Longstaff Bruno Anderson Murphy Barnes Wilson
Soo basically as I said we are closer to having to play Dummett. We need a first choice right centre back urgently.
