If Chelsea wanted him and are willing to pay whatever we deem an acceptable fee then they were probably just waiting to see what we accepted so they could match it. Liverpool doing the grunt work for them
This thread is hilarious. So many opinions of how to make deals, of course I am sure you are all negotiating multi million dollar deals in daily life
I see sccheiderlin is a free agent. Still have fond memories. Sure he could take on Theos role of coaching the youngsters and coming on as a defensive sub when we are 2 up.
You don’t need to have experience negotiating multi million POUND (“dollar”? Seriously?) deals to know that you don’t start at half of the price the other party wants and expect to be treated seriously. On any deal. For any amount. Be it in the hundreds, thousands or millions. Be it when going for a job, buying a house or car or negotiating terms of a contract. Similarly liverpool won’t have heard what Lavia’s agent wanted on wages and gone in with half Seriously this is such a nonsense argument. It is similar to the ex-pro football pundits who believe you don’t have any right to criticise player performances unless you’ve played the game at the top level. Nonsense. And would raise some questions about the likes of Jose Mourinho for starters
I think £50m is the price that would give us the same profit after the Man City sell on as selling him back to them at the buy back price would give. I think that is where the number comes from I think is is similar with Tino and his. That’s where the numbers seem to come from. Someone has worked them out I guess. The club hasn’t directly stated anything
Same, Chelsea fans (well, the ones who I’ve seen at St Mary’s) have always been proper horrible people. Same goes for West Ham and Tottenham. Maybe it’s a London thing, but I sit right near the segregation between the away end and block 42, so that’s all I have to go on. Liverpool fans on the other hand have always seemed like pretty normal people, and they didn’t spend the whole game staring and swearing at home fans. Yes they can be a bit annoying and entitled, but I prefer Liverpool to the plastic of Chelsea.
36 days left of the transfer window so still plenty of time despite the season kicking off in 8 days. Confirmed Outs: Walcott, Elynoussi, Orsic, Diallo, Cabellero, Nlundulu, Lis (loan) Confirmed Ins: Charles, Manning Who do we think is still likely to leave? Highly likely: Lavia, Lyanco, Ćaleta-Car, Salisu, Onuachu Quite likely: JWP, Sulemana, KWP, ABK Maybe, maybe not: McCarthy, Perraud, Livramento, Stephens, Alcaraz, Aribo, Tella, Adams, S.Armstrong No chance we lose sell/loan out all of those but shows how much could still change between now and the end of the transfer window. And that's just the outs! Patience very much going to be required in the intial months of the season. It's difficult to say the key areas for us to sort out going into the season with so much likely to still change. I'd probably say GK, we have 2 senior GKs. One is Baz who is obviously young, low on confidence and in poor form. The other McCarthy, who most would shift if we could. Going into the season with only 2 is already a risk. CB, the position we're likely to see the biggest overhaul I think. Lyanco, Ćaleta-Car, Salisu all highly likely to go. Stephens and Bednarek will probably stay, but Stephens was wanted by Bournemouth and Bednarek is a Polish international and until he came back from his loan in January he wanted out and we wanted him out. We're not going to lose all 5, but even if we lose 3 we're going to have to bring in 2 you'd think. Still think it's key that we bring in another, ideally bit more battle hardened DM. Charles can't be our only out and out DM going into a full season. And finally a striker. Not sure if Adams heart is in it here anymore. Onuachu will go and Mara is looking to me like he needs a season out on loan. I don't trust Adam Armstrong to come good, definitely not as our solo striker, so think we need to bring in another. I'm hoping the reason Piroe hasn't gone anywhere yet is because he is one of the players waiting to join back up with RM once we shift some players.
This suggests a two way fight for Piroe between us and Leicester. Are Leeds United out of the race? | Planet Swans
Generally, when I meet Utd fans from Manchester, they're always fine When they're from the Home Counties, not so much I've never met an Accrington Stanley fan I didn't like
