It's the clubs money that could be better utilised elsewhere.

I think we need a 9 who can hold the ball up. Others will score.
Ive a slightly different view from many on here. I dont believe you need a 20 goal a season striker.
Statistically more 20 goal scorers fail to get promoted.
Indeed in one of our auto promotions, our top goal scorer had 9.
The last time someone scored 20 (Whitts I think), we finished mid-table.

There's nothing wrong with having optimism, the problem for me is when posters get berated for not holding the same view. Everyone has a right to an opinion, and the forum is all the better for that diversity.

As for Tan and the various opinions about his stewardship of the club this past dozen years, there's no doubt we would have sunk into the mire without him or someone like him. Despite the past achievements of his tenure for which we should be extremely grateful, those successes were not consolidated. Some problems at the club emanate from his unwillingness to accomodate pure footballing ethics at the sharp end.

The financial affairs at the club should be rightly at his discretion, but that's where his involvement should end. We hear multiple stories about his attempts to involve himself in the day to day football management at CF11 which would be better left for those who understand that aspect of the business.

As for this coming season, I am also quite optimistic - probably more so this time since we last suffered Prem relegation. There's a sense of pupose under Bulut and his staff that hasn't been there since we came down. With a few exceptions, I like the look of the squad and with a couple (or 3) wise additions, there is no reason to fear the worst and every hope to achieve the best.

Tan asked Malky why are we not playing a striker we paid £8 million for, he also asked why are we not attacking, he also asked what happened to the £50 million transfer fund Malky got. Solksjaer left because of a difference of opinion to which Tan replied " I want to win football matches how can you have a difference of opinion to that". When Tan came and met the players he told them to shoot more often as the more shots you take the more chance you have of scoring. Tan seems to know more about football than the players and the managers. If he interferes it with good cause in my book.

We are about to face Leeds in our first game and we really need to be on the same page. We have got automatic promotion before and we can do it again this season. Last season was a nightmare going to the wire, I was not optimistic at that stage I can tell you. The manager seems good enough and the players seem good enough, that is the reason I am expecting us to do well, I wont find out until the season starts like everyone else. It would be nice to take 6 points from the Swans.

Apparently that included wanting our keeper, David Marshall, to shoot as well. <whistle>

So Tan, a Malaysian billionaire, knows more about football than our managers and players? Who have managed and played in football for years.

As an opinion that is naive in the extreme.

You either know little about football or, as mentioned a few months ago, are a complete wind up merchant. My money is on the latter.

Yeah, why aren't our goal keepers scoring more?
    Tan knows loads.

If he knows so much about football, why is he employing failing managers? Surely he'd find them out at the interview stage.
Why is he signing failing strikers if he knows so much?
We keep saying we need a DoF because Tan knows so little about the game.
    A little knowledge.......

Football is a game with two sides playing 11 players each, There is a small round ball which players try to kick into a large goal with a net. The side that gets the ball into the opposing goal the most wins. The manager and owner do not take any part in the actual game.

So why do we need them?
Lets not bother with coaches. Let the players decide themselves how to line up.
They dont need tactics. Just kick the ball in their net and keep it out of ours.
    Simples.
Tan could save a fortune without spending money on staff we dont need.

Football is a simple game but running a club is complex, the question is who is qualified to run the business side. I am sure players do not need a manager to tell them how to kick a football, If players were any good they would win every game. Clubs relegated had managers and coaches so the question is what good did they do?

No training, no coaching, no opposition analysis, no fitness assessments, no tactics then?

You clearly are a WUM who has never taken an active part in football!!!

I have you on ignore but have watched your comments on here to see what claptrap you have come up with.

I've had my giggles and laughs at your expense. You don't have a clue do you?

    Back to ignore. Byeeee.

Sounds a bit like last season. unless of course all this coaching, analysis and tactics managed to get us into relegation which it actually did from my distant memory.

It would seem the forum would be empty if not for my posts for others to comment on. If coaching and training did any good everyone would be like Messi now, after all I assume players all have two feet.

I have to go on the other forum to catch up on the latest transfer news and it is just speculation now, as for Moore we have asked for a loan.

Tom Davies joined Kilmarnock on a season long loan.

    Good luck to the lad.

    For JCK, fact not rumour.
