    You know what.. I actually think Barry isn't a bad player. Wait listen to this before you have a go at me. He does a outstanding holding job at Man City and with all the attacking players with flair they have to have someone who has to do the dirty job don't they? Barry has always been a excellent box-to-box midfielder especially when he was at Villa he was one of the best CM's in the EPL with his work-rate, positioning, box-to-box ability and his all-round consistency. With the current formation England are playing it suits Barry more because he can get forward more as shown by his goal.. the reason everyone thought he was **** was because Capello played him in a 442 and Barry was more of the defensive midfielder. Also in his younger Villa days he used to play as a full-back and winger, obviously as the years went by he started producing more at a consistent basis in the central area. I think Milner is going to be the future Gareth Barry. Milner was a attacking winger when young but now he's a defensive winger-cum-box-to-box midfielder.

    I know it's a long read, but give Barry a break. Yes he got exposed by the Germen's pace back in the World Cup 2010 but I've seen worse players. <ok>

    It's not that he is bad, it's just that we should be looking at alternatives for the euro's. Barry, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand and now probably Gerrard (if he ever gets fully fit) have lost that extra yard of pace and it is horrendously obvious against teams who play on the break.

    IMO we should just start blooding every younger player and just stick them in at the euro's. Let the team grow with each other and we should see a more successful national side. It worked for Spain, it worked for Germany so why can't it work for us.
