Yeah, his ego and confidence needs putting in place with how many he’s conceded. Happily take a decent fee but don’t see anyone actually coming in for him so reckon he might be our no.2 next season. Would be good to see after what he’s said and could probably learn something from Darlow but I think keeping him as no.2 will just make him a burden in the dressing room so hopefully someone is going to come in for him. Maybe the Saudis?
I think the issue is we don’t really know who is going and staying, also I think we need some funds so sales will be needed but most saleable assets are injured atm.
I would imagine parachute payments, coupled with lopping off a large proportion of our wage bill and the new owners being allowed to put some extra wedge in within the bounds of FFP, funds won't actually be a massive issue?
To be fair, if you encountered 100 Vestal Virgins you would probably think they were from HMRC coming to give you a tax inspection!
Reminds me of when Alan Curbishley was sacked by West Ham and he said he was only interested in managing in the Premier League. Don’t think the deluded twat ever managed again.
More cash into the coffers but maybe it would have been best to keep him and save a few quid. Yes folks Elia Caprile has just been bought by Napoli (League champions) and given a 5 year deal. They have loaned him straight out to Empli in Seria A for the season but expect him to be first choice for club and country before long. Leeds make around £3m from the deal as we had a sell on clause. Never understood why we let him go. Better than Meslier?
Possibly but it shows Victor Orta signed 2 of the best young keepers around so a little bit more in the profit column. Plus so far all our PL players that have left have gone to sides in the top division of their respective countries/leagues. We probably just needed to ride it out with Bielsa but as Radrizani admitted he couldn’t and so it was he who ultimately made all the big calls and not Orta.
It’s ok mate as the Championship suites you and all the rest of the knobheads on here. Victor gave us Marcelo and some of the best memories in the last 2 decades but hey let’s get him before the firing squad for always doing his best.
Hey ho everyone. Hope you all have had and still have a great summer I have to be honest, so far things are looking bleak. Only 12 days to go and if this is the team we are going with, I fear a lower half finish is the best we can hope for. Just hope we won’t be dragged into a relegation fight again. We desperately needs a GK, CB, LB, CAM(A creative on) and a ST(One that knows where the goal is). Ampadu looks good but he is still young so is prone to be unpredictable. Byram is for me nonstarter. It remains to see what Farke and the 49ers can do. But so far, I'm long from convinced about the 49ers ability to run the club. They are making all the right noises, but not much else is coming out of it. We have so far gotten rid of 8 players (6 on loan and 2 no contract) and only one in with maybe one more who should not be a starter. This means Farke and the 49ers need to get in 5 quality players in 12 days if we are going to have chance in hell to get top 6. And no, I don’t think the EFL is responsible for the situation we are in. The 49ers should have known that the takeover would go through as they already owned a stake in the club. If the EFL was to say no to the takeover, they would have to sell their shares in the club. They would have to sell them because they no longer would be considered fit and proper. They could have lined up a new manager and players like ducks in a row. And as soon as the takeover went through the could have sprung to action and gotten players in. It is called being proactive, something I’m sorry to say I don’t think exist in their vocabulary. But they have 12 days to prove that they know what the **** they are doing. It is definitely going to interesting to watch them these coming days.
And for every paltry couple of million made by Orta, he's lost tens or even hundreds of millions give the current farce. History will remember him as being as bad if not worse than Risdale. At least Risdales pathetic efforts at signings were mainly quality and players wanted to play for us. All Orta managed to attract was ****e mainly and supposedly paid about ten times their actual value and now nobody wants to have anything to do with us. The warning signs were there from day one when Monk walked away
