Good Morning. It's Tuesday 25th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Tyler Adams wants out Freelance Sports journalist Pete O'Rourke has dropped a bombshell after revealing that midfield linchpin Tyler Adams wants to quit Leeds Utd. The former ESPN reporter, based in Harrogate, exclusivity claims, that sources close to the player have said that Adams wants to be playing at a higher level. This will come as a double body blow for the Whites after Max Wober announced similar intentions last week. This led to his omission from the squad that lost 2-0 against Monaco at the weekend. The fact that Wober Captained the side that lost the pre-season opener against Manchester Utd in Oslo, will not please Farke! Surely, he would not have have given the Austrian International such responsibility, if he had known his intentions. Adams situation is further complicated by his injury status. He is not expected back until October at the earliest, and is in no condition to pass a medical. Should we be surprised that players who were expecting to stay, have suddenly turned their back on the club? Look at the state of play. The season kicks off in less than two weeks, half the squad have already departed on loan, and players deemed surplus to requirements only several months ago, are expected to play a major part in their resurgence!!!! please log in to view this image Manchester Utd set to scupper Bayındır deal Manchester Utd look set to scupper Leeds plans to sign Turkish International shot-stopper Altay Bayındır. The highly rated 25yo currently applies his trade with Süper Lig outfit Fenerbahçe, whom he joined four years ago for a negligible fee of just €1.50m. In the past, he has been linked with big money moves to the likes of Inter Milan, yet they never materialised. His contract was due to expire this Summer, but renewed for a further four years, back in March, on the proviso he had a release clause of €7million (£6m). Reports claim Leeds have already had a bid rejected at £4.3m. Standing 6' 6, and a wing span to match, Bayındır has gained a formidable reputation as a no nonsense keeper. Eredivisie side Ajax have also thrown their hat into the ring. please log in to view this image Byram set to sign Seven years after jumping ship, Leeds Utd are set to welcome Sam Byram back to the fold. Deemed not good enough by Norwich City, the 29yo asked Daniel Farke if he could train at Thorp Arch after his contract expired at Carrow Road this Summer. He impressed during his 30 minute cameo role against Monaco, and if he can stay fit, Farke see's him as a fantastic addition, both on and off the pitch. The Leeds gaffer described the former Leeds apprentice as a top, top player, once he is fit, and good for the dressing room. If he can prove his fitness over the next fortnight, Farke looks set to invite Bryam back on a permanent basis. He offers a degree of flexability, as he can player as a wing back on either flank. “Sam is obviously a top, top player once he's fit, a top class character, elite academy product, he has had a really good spell, top character, homegrown also important for the Championship." “As an experienced player, that's what you also need to build and also in a few positions. Yeah, we could definitely meet our needs, also some signings." “But the most important topic for Sam is that his body is fit and ready to go. I was quite pleased with him in the last 30 minutes today, he came in a difficult spell when we were a bit under pressure off of Monaco and I think he had a solid start to life here in pre-season and the most important topic is that he stays fit." “All the other topics are more or less, the decision will be made then perhaps in a few weeks. It's a bit too early to judge at the moment. We are happy that we have him because it's also good for the dressing room.” please log in to view this image
Tyler Adams would have left ages ago if he’d been fit. That said he might just have to stay depending on where he is with his recovery. Gut feeling is he’ll get his loan out of the club and be gone just like the rest. Sam Byram would be an excellent signing but Farke has hit the nail on the head regarding his fitness issues.
I like to stir the pot a bit but it's literally a 'just wait and see scenario' at the moment. 49ers and Farke have said that they are confident of having a competitive squad at the end of the transfer window and that there will be more outgoings before incoming. Just got to sit back and hope they get it right. They got Ampadu right so at the moment I'm happy to sit tight and let them get on with it.
Adams leaving might be a blessing in disguise if he goes for decent money as it can be pumped back in to the squad. Ampadu can easily play Adams position but we need other areas strengthening.
Until Adams comes out in print and says he wants to leave I won't believe it. I don't believe this sources close to player bit either. Morning all from a sunny Dublin.
Morning everyone if Byram is the standard we are aiming for then it's mid table at best. If the rest of the want outs are allowed to leave and Drameh is sold then the supporters will turn. Bamford has looked disinterested reports from fans have said. Surely he should be trying more if looking for a money move. So is he fit enough to pass a medical or just going through the motions unable to do anymore. He looked very unfit and slower after injury last season. Who in their right minds would buy him?. Also which club would pay his full wages... None i think his only option is a loan with Leeds still paying part of his wages. That would gain the club nothing and so i think we are stuck with him.
The thing is, we can't blame Wober or Adams for changing their mind. I'm sure both would have committed to the Championship for one season, if promotion was a realistic target - but let's be honest with ourselves. Let's take our midfield as an example. We'll have to take Ampadu out of defence, to partner either Gyabi or Gray (who were not deemed good enough for the bench, just 2 months ago), and use Summerville or Gelhardt out of position as attacking mid / 10, assuming they haven't left by then. Sam Greenwood hasn't hit the required levels yet, but as he was pictured by Heidi Haigh wearing a protective cast on his foot, we can assume he'll be out for a while!!!
Bamford has 'chronic' injuries that can be treated, but not cured. No club worth their salt are going to give him the wages he gets at Leeds.
The assumption that he’ll have the same loan clause in his contract would seem to be a fair one you would have thought. A permanent sale however would be at the club’s discretion.
We can't sell him till he is fit enough. We are always told the January window is high prices so sell him then. I do not want anyone at the club who is not willing to stay.
I don't think it's that Byram was considered not good enough by Norwich. From what i've seen Norwich fans were happy enough with him playing. The trouble is his horrible injury history. He's another Forshaw, decent enough if fit but you wouldn't want to be paying him a large wage to sit on the treatment table. 62% of Byrams career appearances have been for Leeds. Crazy when you think he left 7 and half years ago.
Can’t see the point of signing Byram. We already have Ayling and Drameh and he’s not as good as those two. A quality left back is more of a priority.
Confusios he say....even I'm confused!! we've more wanting to leave than the pied Piper could muster up ....on a BRIGHTER note just seen an image of the supposed new away shirt ...now that's garish, just stick with a good ol'yellow one with some blue/white in it ....onwards and err onwards
