Crawley has batted pretty well all summer, but without going on to make a big score, until today when he bats like that he is the perfect baz-ball opener.

Huge boundaries square of the wicket at Old Trafford.
Bairstow is clearing them, no problem. 86*, four sixes so far

    Another great day for England.
Always somebody stepping up - Bairstow and Wood today. Contributions from Brook, Stokes & Woakes. And you feel Ben Stokes’ captaincy is always making a difference.

Unfortunately, it looks highly likely that there will be no further play .....bloody British summers!

Mind you, anyone remember the 5th day of the Oval test in 1968....Deadly Derek Underwood and 10 round the bat on a pitch resembling a damp sponge!! <laugh>

That may be a very pessimistic view.
Rain is likely to be around, but the forecast is for 50% chance of rain for most of the day at present (I live around 8 miles from the ground as the crow flies). In this area, the weather is very changeable. A change in wind direction might take the rain away or vice versa. But the point is that it would be very unfortunate if two whole days were rained off. England might win this if 30-40 overs are possible, less if conditions are very bowler friendly.

Pessimist is my middle name! The clue is the board we're on! <laugh>

They will need 2 to 3 hours I reckon. At the moment it doesn't look very good though - if you believe the forecast.

England are totally dominant and deserve the win :emoticon-0148-yes:

There was a spell in May/June when there wasn’t a drop for around 4 weeks.
    Now we have a deluge.
    So frustrating <steam>

Are England not as good as they think they are or Haiti better than England think ...

Either way, this is pretty poor so far!
