Did anyone watch or have any interest in the spin-off from the Terminator movies, "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"? Fox ended up pulling the entire thing after 2 seasons but we thought that they were absolutely excellent shows which really should have been left to develop further. The producers were clever enough to get away from the "New Terminator Of The Week" scenario and the development of the central characters was brilliant. The reason Fox pulled it was, they said, due to ratings, but what they failed to take into account ws that in the US, it was only aired on a Friday night, which I believe is a notoriously bad slot for ratings.
I was a bit confused by that, though clearly far too polite and well mannered to mention it.. I am assuming Zoe Saldana is Uhura in the new Star Trek film??

Blue Collar is a pretty good show, but I always miss due to being on Friday's, I think they might have changed it to try and get the ratings up.
Haha yeah, Zoe is the new Uhura. Sorry, I'm not exactly a trekkie. I don't know my Captain Kirk's from my Captain Picard's. Well until the new movie anyway. Thought it was fantastic, bringing Star Trek to a new generation.
Are you on about the one where they're all cadets? If so, I was impressed. They actually did look very like the original cast. I only ever really liked the original with Shatner and the one with 7 of 9 and Janeway in it. Didn't really rate the others. Someone called Jean-Luc Picard speaking Queen's English?
All this just rams home to me that I have NEVER been into Sci Fi. I tolerate it if anything and can watch one that's really good but it just isn't my thing. I'm a cynical ****er so that's probably the reason, I can't suspend my belief enough.
I'm a scientist and I can do it. Free your imagination. What's going on in Geneva would have been science fiction 100 years ago.
Thats the one.. I actually really liked it as the characters were all flawed.. as opposed to Next gen where they give the impression of perfection which is bollocks really. I never got on with the one with Capt Janeway.. mainly due to her whiny annoying nasal voice.. we all know that in the event of space travel Women will never be trusted to fly spaceships.. I only watched the programme due to 7of9 used to watch deep space 9 a bit but that just got annoying and ****
Sorry Jonesey - everyone's ignoring you. I never did watch that. I always saw Terminator as films and nothing more. Didn't fancy a tv spin-off
You get that with lots of films though. Half the stunts in action films could never happen, especially with car crashes and how cars seem to explode at any impact. Imagine how carefully everyone would drive if they knew that would happen in real life!
True enough, I love a bit of Lord of the Rings but think ****e like Avatar is exactly that, ****e. It's nothing to do with me believing it, it's to do with whether I like it. Sci Fi is ok but not my personal taste, nothing against it mind. Give me a film about mountain climbing though and I'm gripped.
