I don't attempt to read anyone's mind; what I do is look at the publicly available evidence. Attributes such as loyalty and integrity are not hidden inside a person's head; they are properties of a person's actions and behaviour.
The Leeds connection is the strong rumours that he will be heading there. Only rumours to be sure, but they have appointed a temporary SD and it could be Webber would like to work with Farke again with a bigger budget and player salary range. My feeling is that Webber was affected by the negative chants at the end of last season and showed it his rather petty response about the Snake Pit after that. It is a fact that he will be moving on and that does create a conflict of interest in my opinion.
Back to players, it seems that Wagner may not be looking for a new CB: "Asked if Tomkinson's injury would tempt him back into the market, the German said: “I don't think so. I like to see Jaden Warner a bit further now. He was with us (in Holland) and he will go to Austria as well. This is his chance to show his capability"." Warner is 20 now, but I can't say that his performances so far have made much of an impression on me. I'll look with a new interest on his appearances in the last two games.
I don’t blame him for deciding to leave, after everything he has done for the club and highs he has taken us on, a section of unappreciative supporters turn on him because he hasn’t been able to topple the giants of the premier league by pinching way way above our financial weight! How dare he!
There’s also the fact that if he was shown to demonstrably down tools or to adversely perform in his role, that would directly effect his credentials and his ability to find new suitors. He will want to leave the club in the best position he can and therefore with his stock at its highest
The Rafael Camacho rumour has arisen again by the PinkUn. Ex Liverpool RW, Not seen too much of him but Sporting fans don’t hold him in particularly high regard.
I haven't seen anything that comes near to being "a strong rumour", just speculative joining of dots by clickbait sites who claim to have inside information but don't. But the Daily Mail did report on 11th July that Leeds had spoken to Brentford technical director Lee Dykes about becoming their Sporting Director. And when they announced the appointment of Nick Hammond as "interim football advisor", Leeds themselves said that "the process for finding a new, permanent, director of football at Leeds United is under way and the club aim to complete this process by October, allowing the successful candidate to focus on the January transfer window." There hasn't been a squeak about Leeds making formal contact with Norwich seeking permission to talk to Webber, who remains under contract to us. Myself, when he leaves Norwich I'd expect Webber to focus full-time on his Everest venture, and who knows what strings he'll pick up afterwards. Anyone who has read accounts written by people who have tackled those sort of challenges will know that they often result in a complete change of direction afterwards.
Fassnacht is a Swiss winger currently at BSC Young Boys. Edit: To call him a winger is to do a disservice to his flexibility. 190 career games at right midfield/winger 72 on the left 49 as a striker 25 as a CAM So could be a versatile addition to the attacking options.
15ish goal contributions in each of his years at YB. Yes, the league is probably easier and YB are one of the best sides, but that is the type of contribution we need from our wide players. Doesn't fill me with loads of excitement, but could be a decent squad player. Problem is, we need people to be challenging to start. Not sure he would
19 caps for Switzerland; was a member of the Swiss team who did so well at the 2020 European Championships.
Fassnacht worked with Wagner when Wagner was manager of BSC. That wasn't the most successful spell, but at least Fassnacht should stand a chance of being up to speed relatively quickly.
I agree. The price should be reasonable and Wagner knows him and how he should fit in. He'll add height and has scored 68 goals in 217 Swiss Super League games. A solid signing without breaking the bank.
Think it all has to do with whether Omobamidele leaves in this window, CS. Warner is under 21 so doesn't take up a squad place and he can stay match fit with U21 games.
