    Eire's right.

Last season's squad, barring Gnonto, Wober and Roberts were an absolute disgrace to our shirt, and I am amazed that fans haven't turned on them.

And many of those playing yesterday spent last season on loan in championship and didn’t tear up any trees. Yet some believe they’ll tear it apart just cos they’re wearing our jersey again.

Think a few relax pills needed on here at times. Eire and Emu state plenty of truths, but we have a new coach and if we give him time maybe he can coach some performances out of last seasons failures. If he is anywhere near as good as his record suggests he can do it. He likes to score goals and play creative football. Signs are positive so far, but he will probably have realised by now that Paddy isn’t the striker ne needs and goes out and gets one….. unless he sees something in what we have already. Same applies to a creative Buendia player and also probably no coincidence that he’s looking at CBS and defenders if he knows Wober going and won’t be able to rely on Cooper…..

Think we just need to see who he brings in now

    Or on the bench.

Bamford and Rutter were absolutely pedestrian yesterday, just like they were against the Man Utd kids. We may be in a lower division, but I see a squad with little confidence, going through the motions, and no master plan.

Farke has his work cut out. The players currently at his disposal are not going to get us to the play offs.

Just to clarify my position Doc. I’m not much into predicting what May happen re signings or what coaches may or may not achieve. I’m merely taking a screenshot as it were of where we are today. That could look a heap different in two weeks. Remember lads saying Marsch, the Spanish lad and big Sam might improve players. Apart from a small number of coaches like Howe most can’t perform miracles. As usual hoping Farke is one of the rare breed

I agree. My original post was about sleepwalking into the first games with the current **** we have.

For example, a couple of weeks ago, Wober, it was implied, was staying and maybe as capain. So for two weeks it appears we are happy with Wober at LCB backed up by Cooper. We need a RCB as Koch left. Then yesterday it came out that Wober was unavailable due to "contractual issues" which implies someone has triggered a loan deal. I'm sorry but the club should be sitting Wober down a few weeks ago and giving him the ultimatum of "if you want to stay, sign this and if you want to go then the kids sides train over there!".

We just seem so passive to the players. Sit them down, ask them their intentions for the next 12 months and build the squad around those committed and **** the others off to train with the u16s. **** em.

That's what I mean by sleepwalking into mediocrity.

    This ^^^

The last two seasons, most on here have given the players the benefit of the doubt. They were **** under Bielsa at the end, **** under Marsch, **** under Gracia and **** under Big Sam. Every single coach (including Bielsa) either alluded to or openly picked up on the amount of individual errors or weak mentality.

Farke isn't going to turn that around. It's a skill issue amongst the squad. It's not a manager issue.

Success is dependant on keeping the better lads from last season, shipping out the dross (ie the ones performing poorly like strikers not scoring chances and goalkeepers not saving shots) and then recruiting properly for a season in the Championship.

Not my favourite signing of all time but to be fair it sounds like he is committed to me.

    Get him in.

So thats Dan James staying and now need to know which other wingers are staying. Sinisterra has been quiet and that could mean he is staying. He will be a starter if stays. If Summerville is going stop picking him for friendlies and get shot. Harrison injured so if he goes it will be January, let’s see if FARKE brings in another winger but still have Gnonto to sort out….

Feeling for Farke atm, he must be wondering what's going on. Wober was staying, lots of talk of him being captain now he's off.
We're 4 positions short atm, probably gonna have to make do for the first few weeks of the season , hopefully then get some more bodies in. I think with the squad as it stands we could manage with just a new 9 and 10, which we need desperately but obviously a new LB would be nice, then one more CM and now because of the Wober situation a new CB to replace him, so it would be 5 if he goes, which is looking likely.

Read somewhere we can only loan a maximum of seven players out. We’re approaching that limit so will have to start getting cash for the next lot evacuating

I posted about this the last Wednesday, with a quote and link to the FIFA rules about loans, after someone else posted similar to yourself, because it is not strictly true.

We can send as many players aged 21 or under out on loan as we wish.

We can send as many club grown players out on loan as we wish. Meslier and Struijk qualify as club grown players.

We can send a maximum of 7 players out on loan, who do not fit either of the above criteria

No worries Eire, I appreciate that my long rambling posting style is such that by the time people get to the last line of the post, they will have forgotten what the subject was about:emoticon-0102-bigsm
