Jarvis seems to go past his fullback so easily.

Nope, he definitely and very clearly said earlier in this transfer window that he wanted a smaller squad to work with. Think it was maybe 24 with academy lads stepping up when needed.
You are right though, this trimming the squad FACT can sit alongside improving the squad and depth. I'm sure he wants / aims to do all 3 i.e. smaller squad but with more quality, meaning 2 quality options for each position plus a couple more (like extra keeper plus utility striker)/midfielder/defender)

Nice finish from Slater but the pull back wasn't intended for him. What's wrong with recognising reality?

    We scored, that’s the reality.

Slater making late runs into the box will be tactical though. The pull back would’ve gone to Tufan but Slater called for it and we scored.

Yep. And if it was a league or cup game I wouldn't care less. But back to the debate that was going on, let's keep it real.

It was just a pre-season, completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things, just another step towards match fitness ahead of the start of the season.

If we’re **** when the season starts, then by all means moan about it, but moaning about a pre-season?

I’ve been watching pre-seasons for decades and I can count the impressive performances on the fingers of one finger.

Equally we can’t moan but yet people think we are pulling up tress and looking good….your post doesn’t mention them.
I’m not sure we are moaning, just not as excited and positive as some of the rose tinted amongst us. Drawing 1-1 and not creating a load of good chances against Bradford and the sane against grimsby. Especially when LR said we’d be better going forward

Me too. Probably more than you.
Don't see it as moaning, just exchanging views on a message board.

I don't pay much attention to pre-season kick abouts. They're meaningless and are simply put in place to gain match fitness, nice if it all comes together and we give someone a good hiding and equally as nice if you see some sort of plan going forward and the bare bones of the team start to come together.

That's the issue I'm having...Identifying who's who and what's what, who's coming, who's going, who's going to be in the starting 11 in a fortnight's time?Business was allegedly going to be done fairly swiftly,it hasnt been(we've brought in a few players, including a bright prospect from Man City, but we're still clearly lacking in key areas)!!.

The only definitive piece of business done thus far is we've ploughed money into an Irish Club, formed some sort of alliance with an Italian Club and drew a line in the sand in what we're prepared to go(financially)in search of a very decent keeper(Darlow).

What's happening with the Connolly saga? What's happening with Greaves and Oscar?

2 weeks until we kick off our 23/24 campaign and things appear as clear as mud...

Meh, we’ve beaten teams above our level & lost to teams below our level in pre season for years, it’s a run out, a FRIENDLY, nothing to see, nothing to get excited about & nothing to get depressed about either.

So go watch Manchester ****ing City then if you only care about being entertained.

Supporting HCAFC is supposed to be miserable with very few fleeting moments.of joy.
