Real shame he’s landed at a club I have a lot of time for.

    The snivelling prick.

Might do better without SD in charge. I guess end game is get higher up leagues then sell. If you do it right way could be a good thing for Charlton anyway

Sorry, you simply can't compare Quinn and Methven ...

... one spoke from the heart, the other from his pocket.

Don't be silly mate, it'll be a years time. Jokes aside, I will say this and I'm sure I speak for the many when I say he talks absolute and utter ****e constantly. Hopefully for yous it mite be different as over the years, going back to 1998, I have a respect for Charlton these days.

Get ready for the beat mate.

I'd just like to add and clarify mate, not one sunderland fans dislike toward him has got nothing to do with we as a collective thinking we deserved promotion at the first attempt, or believed we didn't deserve to be in leauge one, we were where we were because we deserved to be there. The dislike comes from an ownership that thought we were a bunch of northern thickheads that wouldn't see through the obvious strategy from a couple of PR men. Drinking with the plebs in the Taven was all part of it. I personally never bought into them as they came across too easy to please ie letting the lad that ran a sunderland podcast pick them up to do an interview, then gave him a job to be their cheerleader. Then came the "the piss taking party stops here"quote, more lip service when in reality, the piss taking was ramped up. The dislike comes from disrespect. As I've said above, hopefully it's different for you lot. All the best for this season

The way he spoke to the lass at the Bradford game to get the attendance figure for him to announce was a ****ing disgrace. She should have knocked his ****ing head off the smarmy ****.

I'd happily have him by the throat if he tried his BS to my face ...

... I wanted to believe what he said because I always want to believe in my club.

Now he's gone I'd knock his teeth out if I had the chance.

Same here. She handled herself superbly and was very professional about it, unlike that ****er. If it was me, he would definitely be eating that microphone

"Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference"- Twain.

He made himself look a right pratt and that lass clearly knew how he would come across.

I've got no time for methven but that women (the Corporate Communications Manager btw!?!?) was dreadful at her job and her attitude was appallingly. Methven (her manager) asked for an attendance figure and her answer was "if we get it, we get it". I'd of said worse to her, to be fair.

I agree with that and I've said above about the twain comment, however he made himself look a prick and decided to cain her at the wrong time. There was a few on the show made to look like they weren't arsed, but these were the same people the two of them had a go at for clocking out at 5. No matter what way it's sliced, it's a dark time now in the past.

The thing is, they could have made up an attendance figure and no-one would have known the difference, so why all the hand wringing and teeth gnashing?

"Whatever the figure, lets all just say 46,301 ok?"

    Job done

    Methven is a prick

Apparently Charlie is now saying that any Charlton fans who think his consortium will be spending lots of money on players, are going to be disappointed.

Actually we won’t be, because we’ve already been well advised by our friends up north <applause> <applause> :emoticon-0150-hands

Well it's not all about money being spent.

But the trouble with that individual is that he has not the first idea about how to run a football club.

All he did here was lay people off, cut costs, sell promising players for anything they could get, let the academy decline, abuse the supporters when his mighty brilliance was questioned, go missing when it got sticky, appoint the most useless manager we have ever had and hang around like the smell of spilt milk way past his time.

Apart from that all okay with him!

Hope you do better than we did with him. If he and his buddy were still here we'd have been in administration by now, and League One at best.

    Yep.

But still you talk to people quietly. Just a quick , over to one side, word and stress if it's important or not. Then a more public thank you.

Once you lose someone by being an arshole you lose them forever. It's the same as shouting. You lose them, and you lose others.

I learnt never to shout at staff, if you screamed and shouted your sacked or you just said politely you are sacked, they have both the same outcome. In15 years I only did it twice.

Thought you might all be interested in the first month for us under Charlie’s consortium.

So, it turns out that our billionaire owners aren’t willing to put any actual money into buying players.

We have been forced to sign crocks, loans, untried kids and players who have had no pre-season due to injury. We are so threadbare we have been playing with a number of our U18 kids as first team regulars. Not surprisingly we have lost our last five games in a row and are currently 1 point above the relegation zone.

Despite the lack of transfer funds we have now sacked our manager (presumably to save some more money by not buying anyone else before the window shuts, as we have no manager now).

Charlie now says that the plan is to reduce our financial losses by increasing ticket sales (yeah right) and make a profit on player sales (our promising academy kids presumably).

If only someone had warned us about Charlie, eh ?

That's an absolute sickener for you mate.

If it's any consolation at least you've made me feel justified in my feelings towards him ...

... it's terrible that such parasites are allowed to latch onto our clubs.

I've no real idea what to say or what hope to give you.

Looks like the protests will just have to start again, good luck mate.
