Probably did want him to get the century, but they added 66 runs in 49 balls for the final wicket...don't think England is going to regret those runs.
If the light holds, we should win this tonight. The extra half hour (if required) would give us an extra 8 overs. And most of these remaining overs would be with the new ball. From the look of tomorrow's forecast, we really do need the light the hold here.
Somerset won by 9 wickets, up to 4th. Somewhat improbably, we have the most bonus points in the division.
Australia still has plenty of batsmen that can score runs, but they've had most of the ones that can force a draw removed. Could progress pretty quickly if there are even pockets of good weather to be had.
Just hope Surrey win tomorrow to.put Middlesex back where they belong, in the second tier of the County Championship.
Essex would appear to be the biggest threat to Surrey, and I would prefer Surrey to Essex. As for Middlesex, I feel their "directors" are still living in Medieval Times. Every year they perform badly in the T20 and not much better in the 50 over tournament either. Why is that? As for Hampshire, they are a good side but perhaps lacking a high quality batter at the top of the order and a class spinner sble to deliver 70 wickets a season.
I’m far from knowing the intricacies of Cricket . Can someone answer me this please ? In rain delays , who does it impact most, in a negative way . Batting side or bowling side ? I would imagine batting , but really not sure .
It's not good having to start again every time when batting. Plus your bowlers are resting and recovering. The other factor is coming out to overcast conditions.
I have often wondered why, in a country with weather like ours, we have devised a National game that requires 5 consecutive days of good weather.
