I was sat eating my tea watching the local news and this came on. Have to be honest and say I nearly choaked. Did not see that coming but what a week this has been. As plymborn says 2 signing in one week to be £1m each. Wow........ So pleased with this.

No wonder they could afford Mumba and Whittaker............ I thought it was the shirt I bought.

I know what you mean. I've done shopping, gardening, painting a wall, dusted, ironing and even had a bath. No end to the work. Be glad when the football starts and I can have a day off.

The truth is that this isn’t the Argyle we’ve loved and suffered for in the past.

This is an Argyle that not only signs two £1m players in one week, it’s also the Argyle which has just bought the land behind the grandstand for future redevelopment and whose owners are about to give it £11m to build a new training facility at Harpers Park and academy at Brickfields.

To misquote a wise being, it’s Argyle Sensible, but not as we know it.

I suspect that was less stressful ( and cheaper) than my week. I know what you mean about when the football starts..oh wait..... ,

It was the home shirt BC. The green and gold one that my son thinks looks like a South African rugby shirt. I quite like it though so he only has to look at it not wear it.

You see all life passing by when you are patiently waiting for kickoff and the ground fills up. The outfit I like to spot is best viewed in the bleakest winter months. It consists of a warm woolly Argyle bobble hat, an Argyle scarf worn over a think fleece for warmth and thin cotton shorts. I’d call them BBQ shorts. Poolside in the Mediterranean shorts, Not 90 minutes outdoors in single figure Centigrade in January shorts.

Why in heaven’s name? What is it meant to prove?

Postmen around here wear shorts on the bleakest winters day.....never any recognisable PO uniform....other than the shoulder bag and shorts....it's as if it is a competition amongst themselves to prove that they are not a wimp......I wouldn't mind if they had decent legs.

Yes but at least they walk however many miles on their rounds. These football men-of-steel are going to sit still (ish) for the best part of 2 hours. And it’s dark by halftime…..

    Bali Mumba analysis:

    https://argyle.life/first-team/analysis/new-signing-analysed-bali-mumba/

I'm over the moon with this signing but for those who've seen less of him, I'll draw your attention to the second Coventry goal in this clip.

Yes, it's our Bali running back towards his own goal and losing it. He does have a habit of deploying his wonderful skills in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Mostly he got away with it in League 1 and in any case, as a team we had enough quality to overcome the odd slip-up. It won't be so easy in the Championship and mistakes will be punished hard.

However, it may be the solution is simple and one we've discussed in this house after several games. In days of yore, he'd have been handed the number 11 shirt and told he was a winger, not a full back. On Saturday, against Forest Green Rovers, we played 4:3:3 and our front line was Whittaker, Hardie and Mumba. They scored 4 of the 5 goals between them. We will see if that's going to be a routine set-up........

It seems that Argyle are in talks with Everton in regarding a loan of 20yr old defender Lewis Warrington.....who spent last season at Fleetwood and had a very successful spell with them.
