    With;

    1. Non appointment of a 'proven''proper' manager.
    2. Apparent lack of effort to get someone to improve on the excellent work Nigel Pearson had delivered.
    3. Lack of credible support for the care taker manager.
    4. Lack of communication from the club.
    5. Seemingly careless approach to the rest of the season.

Consequently I feel pessimistic about the remainder of the season. What had started to look like an exciting and optimistic future has done a 180degree turn round for me!

Not expecting much consistency until the current mess is sorted out, will give Nick Barmby my full support. It's not his fault he's been placed in this position, I hope his reputation doesn't suffer as a result of helping out.

Don't know how many professional football managers you have contracted, but it's not like shopping in Morrisons.

    Love your optimism

I'm concerned, we have a group of young fellas who have performed well under strong leadership provided by NP! When that strong leadership isn't there what then ???

dont be fooled by nick barmby's public image. he is as hard as nails when he has to be. the messages i am reading from all this is that the squad are fully backing NB. Garcia is the latest to make this point. the more i think of this the more i like it. the key now is who Nick will bring in as his No.2

what experienced managers are out there whod come to hull, who arent just as proven at failing or mediocrity tho?
most proven managers would want there own team, and start making wholesale changes and trying to dismantle our talented team...
my main concern about barmby is if he becomes permanent,is how will he handle the transfer market, but for now i think hes more likely to carry on the positive start to the season, then a mclaren/billy davies etc...

Why do people think we need someone who's had experience with other clubs? It's not like all the players will start playing shite and the team will spiral down the table if we don't get a manager who's had a lot of experience?

They are still the same players, Nicky Barmby was the coach and he will know how everything was under Pearson, all he needs to do is carry everything on like it was and the team will still be the same team looking to get into the play-offs. As a player himself, he might even notice things Pearson didn't.

the irony of the situation is that if we are looking for a more experienced advisor to Nick, he could actually be looking for a number one! And if we get the right number one, Nick will ber just what we need

The home matchday programme carries a feature on different players and their thoughts on their team mates.

Almost everyone of them quotes Barmby as the best trainer, usually commenting on how professional he is.

I'd say that smacks of a great deal of respect for the Hullensian. Although I hasten to add I suspect that when the pound notes start rustling in January 2012, that respect will go out of the window, because that is what football is like.

under normal circumstances i would agree with your last bit, but i get the feeling that these lads are so together and focussed and see that by sticking together they can get to the PL as one. The promotion bonus will take of the pound note situation for sure.

Im distinctly impressed that the club havent panicked after Joyce turned us down and just brought any old has been in

Im also wondering if NP departure has pissed a few players off after he would have had to sell the club to them to get them to come, the question is will this just improve team spirit (with a we'll show him attitude)

    1. Non appointment of a 'proven''proper' manager....
City have not got the dosh to attract a 'proven' proper' manager....At least Barmby is a Hull lad and a City fan and will do a good job

    2. Apparent lack of effort to get someone to improve on the excellent work Nigel Pearson had delivered......
Right....Bet you were not saying that after Scunthorpe beat us.. 4-5-1 at home to Palace!

    3. Lack of credible support for the care taker manager.......
Say nothing until the Pearson deal is done..As Pearson is still an employee of HCAFC say nothing until the cash is in the bank

    4. Lack of communication from the club.....................
    See 3 above.

    5. Seemingly careless approach to the rest of the season.....
    No evidence of this...

When I read your first paragraph it actually made me laugh and I am not being sarcastic. It is very simply put and so true when so many people are getting all hot under the collar about the umpteen things that could go wrong and what a disaster it could all turn out to be. Like you say, same players, same game, business as usual.

Why is everyone convinced that Barmby being appointed caretaker is for any reason other than us not having time to get someone in ahead of this weekend?

All the panic seems to be about how we can't go having Barmby in charge for a prolonged period, but I haven't seen any indication that that is the plan. We were talking to our first choice Joyce about him coming in straight away. He said no so we've decided whilst we're considering the other options for more than 30 seconds we'd better put somebody in charge so that we're not rushing everything and having unplanned training all this week. The intention must still be to find a suitable permanent manager as soon as possible, this just gives us a week or so to work on it.

What's everyone else seen or heard reported that's making them act as though Barmby has been given the job til the end of the season and the whole world is falling apart because he hasn't got an assistant manager within 10 minutes of accepting it?

Interesting interview on Talk Sport just now. It appears it's true that negotations are still being finalised ie compensation etc.
It was explained that due to the risk of NP declaring constructive dismissal HC will not agree to announce NP is leaving until everything is signed off by both sides.
So all those champing at the bit will have to wait as no official announcement on "anything" will be made about a replacement until NP is all signed off and out of the door

It's a shame Nigel has left in this way, he's turned our fortunes around and is leaving under a very dark cloud!

    Nick Barmby's Career:
    International Honours; 23 England Caps
Club Honours; FA Cup winner, League Cup winner, Uefa Cup winner Chaity Shield winner, promotion twice with Hull City
Other teams; Played most of his career in the Premiership for; Spurs, Middlesbrough, Everton, Liverpool and Leeds.
Barmby has worked under some of the best managers and coaches in the country before becoming reserve team coach at City. He is a Hull lad through and through and proved it by coming here in 2004 when he would have had plenty of better offers elsewhere. Basically he has a better pedigree than any other rookie boss and he has been chomping at the bit for this job for a long time. Don't underestimate him just because he is inexperienced (every manager has to start somewhere), but I think if Barmby gets the rub of the green and good backing from the fans he could surprise a lot of people.

    Good post Craig.

The best footballer without doubt, to originate from Hull.

One of Englands best footballers, who had a major influence in THAT 5-1 win in Munich.Remember?

And he supports UllEffCee, so that might help get the Daily Fail on our side alos, with them being such anti City and pro egg chasing.
