Good Morning. It's Friday 21st July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Speculation intensifies over Nubel deal

With Karl Darlow expecting to complete a move to Bournemouth, speculation has intensified that Alexander Nubel could be en route to Elland Road. The 26yo, fresh from his two year loan at Monaco where he played 76 times, has fallen out with his parent club, and looks destined to leave!

It has been reported that the Bundesliga reigning Champions want £8.7m, which, to some seems a lot of money for a reserve keeper. Daniel Farke is currently holding talks with Illan Meslier (and Crysencio Summerville) regarding their intentions this Summer, after which, big decisions will need to be made.

Leeds strike deal with Bluebirds regarding ticket prices

Leeds have agreed a mutual deal with Cardiff City, that sets prices for away fans at the same level for both games.

In just over a fortnight, the Bluebirds (with fans in tow), will make the 500 mile round journey to West Yorkshire to watch their side, pit their wits against Daniel Farke's Leeds. The price of fuel is bad enough, but when you take food and drink into consideration, the cost of following your club around the Championship runs into many thousands, and that's before you even get a ticket.

Leeds have slashed their prices by more than half, on the proviso that when Leeds travel to the Cardiff City Stadium in January, the bluebirds ensure Leeds fans get the same deal. Adult tickets have been reduced from £45, down to £21, concessions have dropped from £31 to £16, 16 to 18-year-olds from £23 to £11, under-16's from £20 to £9 and under-11's from £10 to £9.

Leeds are keen to secure the same deal with the rest of the Championship, which based on the above pricing, could save a family hundreds of pounds over the season.

A Leeds statement read: “Leeds United are pleased to announce the club have agreed a reciprocal ticket pricing offer with Cardiff City. The EFL allow reciprocal ticket offers to be agreed between clubs and we will continue to work with all other teams in the Championship to try and offer a better deal for travelling supporters."

“As a result of the deal being struck, Cardiff City supporters who travel to Elland Road in August and Leeds United supporters who travel to the Cardiff City Stadium in January will pay the same price for tickets.”

    Kinnear remains the 'go-to guy'

Anybody that thought, that the takeover would weaken Angus Kinnear's position at Leeds Utd, can think again! In a massive Elland Road shake-up, Angus Kinnear remains the 'go-to guy' that everyone from Daniel Farke to Hannah Cox (head of Admin) will report to.

He impressed 49ers Enterprises President Paraag Marathe during negotiations of the takeover, and also played a big part in bringing Daniel Farke to Elland Road. Kinnear will in turn, report back to Marathe with updates.

"Kinnear played a very active role in finalising the post-relegation takeover agreement between Radrizzani and 49ers Enterprises after the end of last season. The US group relied on Kinnear to help get a fresh deal done and secure EFL approval for it. He was also part of the process which led to Daniel Farke arriving as first-team manager two weeks ago."

"He has long been the club’s representative at Premier League and EFL meetings, and final completion of transfers and contracts falls to him. While others above him give final approval, he is the person who signs the paperwork off."

"In the revised structure at Elland Road, Angus Kinnear is the person who other key figures will answer to in the first instance: from Farke to new technical director Gretar Steinsson, head of medicine and performance Rob Price, new head of football operations Adam Underwood, head of football administration Hannah Cox and interim football advisor Nick Hammond."

"That tier of staff is managed by Kinnear, who in turn feeds back to Marathe. Radrizzani’s exit has in no way lessened Kinnear’s seniority."

Matt hope you don’t mind mate, but something cropped up so away for the weekend. The weekend debate I usually post Friday PM but thought it best to post it into your Friday Debate rather than post it early and compete with yours. So the unedited version is with you: :emoticon-0148-yes:

Imminent is a thing of the past now, thank god. We now have the 49ers in total control of the club and I hear there will be a lot of changes but the main change is FARKE and how much support he gets. I believe everything was agreed when FARKE presented his plan to Marathe, so should be no surprises for either party. Its action we now need and maybe some communication to the fans. Just get on and do it now please.

What will our U21s look like this season as we go back into Prem2 Div1. The last time we won promotion we got relegated because all our best players were drafted into the first team to cover huge injury problems. I think the 21s will lose Perkins, Gyabi, Gray and Joseph to the first team and the 2 young kids we just drafted in from Scotland May well replace Perkins and Joseph once they get up to speed, but both only 16yo. Will Amari Miller finally show us his potential and can Sean McGurk come of age. Bate will either be first team or loaned out Cresswell is first team, Hjelde first team or gone?

The work Nick Hammond has been doing behind the scenes. Seems to be paying off at last. The recruitment department is having a radical overhaul. Gretar Steinsson has joined Leeds United in a senior recruitment/technical role. “Head of Technical and Recruitment” effectively replaces Victor Orta. Adam Underwood who was Head of Academy is now Head of Football Operations. Steinsson was previously performance director at Spurs after jobs with Everton/Fleetwood. Which now means we await a new Sporting Director. Dykes from Brentford has been mentioned but also a man FARKE knows well is the former Norwich DoF Stuart Webber?

This subject will have a lot of different views but needs to be sorted out. Last week the liberal media went ballistic about wanting to leave Hew Edwards alone. He is one of their own and we should all feel sorry for him after he was named. Yet lets talk about footballers who have had their careers and names destroyed by our media because they were named. All found not guilty whilst Edwards is actually guilty of being a ***** but we should feel sorry for him? Giggs not guilty and all charges dropped, Mendy not guilty all charges dropped, Greenwood not guilty all charges dropped, Ched Evans not guilty. Where is the fairness. Edwards has admitted his failings and gets a free pass yet these footballers who we may not like were not guilty but careers ruined. Even today there is a headline saying a premier league footballer raped me…..

Morning all. Been reading a simplified report of FFP this morning as it is now implemented by the elf. It would be in our best interests to sell both Meslier and Gnonto as they cost us very little and we should make a large profit. That money could be used for team rebuilding without affecting our FFP. Selling Harrison for example no use as wed unlikely see a profit on that so can't really use the cash. Same with players loaned out. They would all have been sold at huge losses also hampering our rebuilding under FFP. That's how my simple mind understands it. Feel free to correct

Giggs didn't have to "disprove" anything. Judge ordered not guilty verdicts to be entered against all the charges due to the prosecution being unable to prove his guilt.

Having said that, there's been something dodgy about the guy ever since he was caught shagging his bother's wife. Looks like his involvement in front line football is finished as a result of this action whether it failed to be proved or not.

Taking your Harrison example and using simple made up figures as can't be arsed to look up and can't remember when he actually transferred not loaned.
Assuming he signed 2 years ago on a 4 year contract for 16m. 8m already written off in profit and loss (4m per year). Therefore any fee received above 8m would be profit this year. Conversely if not sold there would be 4m to be written off to loss this year and next year. Whereas with gnonto and meslier there is very little to write off each year if kept because they cost very little.

So if leeds sell meslier and gnonto why can't they use the money?. Even if they overspent it would take years before anything was done. Man utd have just been given a small fine. Evertons saga just drags on and on so why bother to comply when others cheat.

In the unlikely event that no one else leaves and no one else comes in I’d be very confident of automatic promotion with the squad as it stands.

Maybe if we had no injuries for the season. Given there will be four or five missing for most games I don't think were near strong enough yet

I did say it was unlikely. Just a hypothetical scenario. Meslier wouldn’t be too bad for the Championship imo.

Agreed on a proper striker to replace Barndoor.

I have to disagree about Meslier. He's woeful at coming out to catch/punch crosses into the box. The Championship is full of teams who put crosses in for big lumps to get on the end of so I'd be very worried if he's our starter.
