I think they’ll both go tbh. If you’d asked a Saints fan on the eve of the Liverpool game who would leave I think everyone would’ve had KWP as one who would definitely go. The season being 2 weeks away and nobody we would want to stay has left yet has kind of given some false hope I think. Lavia KWP Livramento JWP Salisu Alcaraz ABK Sulemana All won’t be here by September the first I think
Particularly knee ligament injuries. When your game is that burst of pace and agility, those are really scary.
Of those I think Sulemana I'd be surprised at. Only came in January when we were odds on to go down. Hardly set the world alight but showed glimpses I suppose. He knew the score.
I kind of think the opposite. There was a lot of hype about him over the last year or so and barely featuring for a **** team for 5 months wont have impacted his stock all that much imo. And when he did play he always looked a threat and in one of his only starts he scores 2 against Liverpool. We don’t know contract details etc but be interesting if he does have a clause about relegation, I’d think it pretty likely considering when he joined
100% agree with this. If any of these are still here I will be pleasantly surprised. (Except Salisu.. he can **** off)
Hope we put a sell on clause in any deal for Tino. £30m is a good fee considering his injury and only having had one good season. Shame to lose him but as others have said, that is pretty much why we bought him.
I said at the end of the season that I didn’t really care who we sold this summer, and still feel the same. £30 million for Tino is good business especially with his injury and set backs. It’s the one position we have decent options still and means we can get to the championship squad for Martin quicker, and he can then concentrate on the players staying for this season.
With 2 weeks til the start of the season we have still spent the most on a single transfer fee in the division (Charles at £10.5m over Winks at £10m) With an expected another, what, £130m to come from sales? We could be breaching that figure yet, and possibly multiple times
It's down to him, if he doesn't feel that he owes us a season after helping him recover from a long injury then **** it, let him go. We want players that are fully invested into the project and the money will help to get the right players in.
It's definitely more reasoned on here than elsewhere. RB is, for now, a position of relative depth (and quality for the level) and Tino has been struggling to get back from a major injury for quite a while now. One more bad injury and he'll never get near that £30m+ value ever again - and at this stage, we don't even know if he's the same player as the one we saw in 2020/21. (although recovery from ACLs in general, has of course, improved a hell of a lot) I'm totally fine with selling him and getting on with things.
Brilliant. As long as SR make money, who gives a **** that we sell anyone with any promise? Who cares that the new business model rips up the team each season and consigns us to never being competitive? *not a pop at you mate, but I don't see how anyone can be happy or think this is a good thing, especially with Tino as we've been paying his wages and for his rehab for the last year.....Although if it means an end to that god awful "Follow, follow, follow" song it'll make it worth it.
In fairness to Tino, I'd make that move in a second, because another significant knee injury could virtually end his career.
I'd rather see the team do well than the owners personally. It's weird that fans on here are happy for this style of ownership
Beat me to it. It will be Brie and a youngster, assuming KWP is off. Brie should do ok, can’t help feeling sad if we lose such an exciting player as Tino leave.
