Yeah i thought this, It's why i'm surprised he is making a claim about Tino. It just feels like Journos are being pressured into pressurng Tino.
This was my thoughts when he was first linked to Newcastle. I still remember when Ox left and a lot of fans were saying it was too early and he came out and said something along the lines of when a top team comes in for you you have to take it as you never know when or if it will come again. I’d imagine that is the advice most players are given
Would be disappointed if we sell Tino, but that would be a pretty good fee for someone who had one good season and then spent a year injured. Isn’t Harvey Barnes going there for £30m too? If selling Tino means we can sign a few more players for this season, then so be it. As others have said before, selling the promising youngsters we buy to bigger clubs helps us to continue signing promising youngsters.
We will. But again, this is part of our model: sign elite young talents cheap, allow them to leave if big bids come in. Sucks in the moment, but it will also make it much easier to keep that pipeline flowing.
I mean, KWP is miles better than Bree. Don't know whether we'll keep KWP, but Bree is solid at this level, while KWP would be the best RB in the league by a long distance.
If it means keeping KWP instead (I thought he'd be the one to go, not Tino), then I think I can accept selling Tino for £30m. Lamptey has never been the same for Brighton since his big injury. Further injuries, and general fitness issues. No-one knows what the next year or two has in store for Tino; KWP is the more sure thing.
