I think Poch probably sees him as a future 1st choice but Meslier wants First team football. It depends who stupid enough to promise him 1st team football straight away.

In fairness to him, I don’t think he has really had a proper goalkeeping coach at the club since he got here. Farke didn’t take long to realise and change that

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't assess Meslier with the new gk coach for a few weeks and make a decision then. Not sure any we've been linked with are any better than him, there is a keeper there but lacking in confidence and as you say a senior coach.

 

Mes certainly has talent as a shot stopper… the rest of his game has gone backwards and I don’t doubt confidence is a big part of it. Bluntly speaking though, his errors all through the season.. and they were all through the season… are as responsible for our relegation as struijks weekly Fck ups and Bamford’s missed sitters.

I’d much rather have a less talented but safer pair of hands… and let him get his confidence back, improve his positioning, learn how to kick a ball etc on someone else’s time.

can’t be too much to ask to have a keeper who knows where his near post is without having to ask a coach

 

Bielsa loved Meslier and said he has great distribution and that’s why he will get a chance to play. He was then picked for the cup game against Arsenal and wow he looked the bollox and he was like a sweeper at the back ………. The fast forward and his kicking was pants his screw ups at the back playing tippy teapot put us under pressure every game …… he scared me more than Felix at the end

 

Meslier has lots of potential.

Unfortunately he is weak minded and pressure got to him.

Ship him out.
