Yesterday proved once again that when it comes to domestic football England is miles ahead of everyone else. In other countries you would very rarely see a non-league team 4 leagues below their opponents making a real contest of it. The FA Cup shows that in England anyone can beat anyone (or at least give them a good contest) on their day. The passion shown by English teams and their fans and the sheer excitement are second to none. There are less competitive games between 2 La Liga sides than there are between the top English sides and teams several leagues below them. Man Utd may have been poor but Crawley made a real match of it. Add to this the fact that English teams are always amongst the best performing in the Champions League, with even new boys Tottenham beating the top teams in Italy, and you can see that English domestic football is the best. The technical ability and skills of players in other leagues may be higher but for pure excitement and competitiveness English football wins hands down.
Man City's ã500m team currently being outplayed at home by Notts County who have just hit the post!
Real Madrid got beaten 4-1 by a second division team last season. I like the English game as well but all this 'we are the greatest, no other country has exciting games or passion' **** is pretty annoying.
surely the ability of **** lower league teams to compete with high flying teams in the premier league shows the lack of quality in the prem?
