Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing Ethan Ampadu, in a permanent transfer. The versatile defender, who can also operate in midfield, joins the club from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old has penned a four-year deal at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2027.
A couple if things about this deal. Tyler Adams is a big mate and spoke to Ampadu and also in the video Leeds just posted Adams looks fit and healthy, admittedly not kicking a ball but no limp and free moving, doesn’t look like October before back. Is Adams staying
I will admit those 2 are close calls. An U21 player is classed as such if they were 21 or under in January that the season commenced. The example the EFL gives is that to be classed as an u21 last season, a player needs to be born after 31 December 2000 On that basis Pascal (born August 1999), ceased to be classed as an u21 player at the end of the 2020/21, as he didn't turn 22 until August 2021. At that time having joined us in January 2018, he will have been registered with us for 3 1/2 seasons, so I think he is now classed as club grown. Meslier (born March 2000) would be eligible for u21 football until the end of the 2021/22 season. He joined pre season 2019, so was able to get 3 full seasons with ourselves, so even though the first season was a loan, I still think he qualifies as being club grown. Any mistakes in the maths are entirely mine, so if I have miscalculated I'll rely upon the fact that I'm typing this on a phone whilst in the passenger seat of a car

I compare myself to FARKE and I stand aside on his knowledge and coaching, so all I will say is Divok Origi is yet another name always tied to Leeds every window. Why the hell would we sign a lump who has a whole history of lack of goal. Sorry it’s a joke However one that gets some traction is PSG player Edouard Muchut. Lots of clubs chasing him but only 20yo and did a great job in midfield for Sunderland on loan last season. Loan or buy seems to be the discussion taking place if true
