Speak for yourself. The club should offer counselling for anyone traumatised by a player’s terrifying progress.
Surprised anyone was there after the grid locked roads around West Hull from 3.30 until 7.00pm. Took me two hours to get to the stadium and I finished up walking two thirds of the way. Level crossings on Spring Bank and Cottingham in the down position causing it, which also meant no trains or buses getting through. Only in Hull would we accept this, second day running this has happened.
I was watching the game and thought who's that little bloke in the centre of the park. He's doing a lot of running around but he's not had a touch yet! It turned out to be the ref.
Enjoyed that. Thought Simons was excellent, think he’ll kick on this year. Cox looked quality on the ball, although did seem to struggle physically. A few times running back he couldn’t get anywhere near them. Jarvis made a decent impression first half. Thought it was interesting Oscar played a bit deeper. Seemed to drop in and link up play. Did surpassingly well at it too Vaughan might just be our best player
He's good. Very goods for his age. Played 15 mins and made 3 runs, but he is definitely exciting. Just let's not get sucked into thinking he's the finished article quite yet. Our resident antipodean gobshite was crying a couple of weeks ago that it was high risk and rash to have a strategy to be developing talent to sell on at huge profit. KLP, Greavesy then who else? Can we do it every year without pissing our panties?? Well. I'd suggest that Slater and Jones, Vaughan, Smith, Jarvis have the potential and then we have a bunch in the academies too. And given we only paid fees for 4 or 5 players last season, why his focus is on amortisation for FFP and not simply turnover vs wagebilll still remains beyond me. But hey ho. Some folk listen to a podcast and become experts. Others look at the baselines for their expectations in a given season and see progress as well, err... Progress.
What was the score tonight? Just to confirm, as well, the kids lost on Saturday to Scarborough, I say kids, but I think I saw something about 7-8 trialists, & the “1st team,” beat Grimsby over 4 quarters or something? Anyone got any ideas about any of the trialists?
I decided not to get up at 2.30 am to watch a friendly, but reading the comments and report it sounds as if it was an accomplished performance. It sounds as if we need to get the new arrivals integrated as soon as possible to be more effective offensively, but I guess that will come in time. Certainly sound as if Jarvis and Smith again didn't do their prospects of being involved this season any harm, which is great to hear.
Hull Daily Fail again, reporting us as second favourites to be related at 15/8... nearly chocked on my Bran Flakes, so checked... the shortest price is 11/2.... Top 6 finish 9/2... top half 6/5 Where did they find these people, or are they all TWS and Massive supporters.
LR hoping we can find our cutting edge as the pre season rolls on.. Bayern Munich arent struggling for finishing.. they won a friendly yesterday 27-0....!!!... they took their foot off the gas second half after leading 18-0 at half time.
I know it's only a friendly, but tbh I didn't see it as anywhere near as positive as some are making out. Pedestrian, lack of inventiveness & cutting edge, etc. Pretty boring. Coyle and Cox our best players on the night. Coyle was stand out, which looked at another way is a tad worrying. Odd that there seemed far less playing it around and out from the back? Only just over 2 weeks to go before the season starts yet I still have no idea what our set up, particularly going forward, is going to be going into the new season? And other than Cox and Delap, still no new signings bedding in (and Cox apparently isn't signed anyway). Yep, I know we have 3 more friendlies and things might well become a lot clearer soon. Hopefully it all does come together pretty quickly because at the moment, imo, we look way off being capable of a promotion push.
