Saying that, about 10 of our chances went to Richarlison so should probably void them. 13 chances to 4.
Yeah Sarr has been busy and had some nice moments. Really gets around the pitch nicely. Perisic is exactly what you’d expect. Clearly more comfortable than at LWB. Devine is a bit isolated out of position at RW. Would like to see him as an 8 sometime.
Nowt will change we will score plenty with Ange ball and we will lose many due to the likes of Dier and Sanchez stillstinking the place out for the 6th manager waste of time
30 shots to 4 and we lost 3-2, lol. Richarlison had about 14 of our shots so we should probably say we just had 16 shots. He’s honestly dreadful and although I know what we should do, you just know the club’s gonna give him another season Enjoyable game though. Been a couple years since we’ve seen Spurs attack for longer than 3 minutes of a game. Solomon, Lo Celso, Udogie, Sarr, Perisic and Devine with good games.
Hojbjerg had a bit of a mare, as he defaulted into what the ubermensch and Conte expected from him once or twice, so when everyone was pushing up he'd drop back expecting a back pass Obviously it takes more time for some players to adjust than others, but given he was integral to the transition in their systems he might need a little more reprogramming than some of our squad
Like I’ve said before, there’s a considerable difference between doing a job and being suited to a system and this is going to be the case for Hojbjerg. I think he leaves before the end of the window, I doubt he’ll want to stay and be play second fiddle anyway. We’ll be stuck with the goal shy pigeon up front though, unfortunately.
The most painful thing about Richarlison is that EVERYONE, apart from the people who made the decision, saw this coming. It isn't the price tag that bothers me so much - after all, he can't help the fact that two clubs have been stupid enough to spend upwards of £50m on his services. What gets me more is that we all saw this coming. People on social media are calling him our 'New Janssen' but there is no comparison imo, other than the fact that he will also register single digits in the PL. At least with Vince you could see the logic in the signing, it just didn't work out for him. Sometimes that happens. With Richarlison, we all had depressingly low expectations from the outset, and yet someone somewhere at the club with some authority listened to Conte and said 'yeah, sounds like a good idea'. And they are rewarded handsomely for expressing these opinions.
If Levy is not going to pony up for VDV & Tapsoba (or others) after that shambolic defensive display he never will. He really ought to be on the phone right now.
Stats tell the story here. We created plenty of good chances. Defence needs some serious work though, both coaching and players. Worth reiterating that some of these players have been back less than a week, against opposition who have had more buildup. So definitely some cobwebs being shaken off too.
