Has there been any announcement as to when the emails will be sent out? I'm set to receive emails for both mine and my dad's account so will need to test that his phone will actually work with a digital ticket well in advance of the first match. And then show him about 10 times how to actually use it
Our fanbase always finds something to moan about. Seems to reflect society these days - people don't just accept reality, roll their sleeves up and find a way, they throw their toy out the pram and moan
Good. Might have helped to say that months ago. It seemed obvious to me to try and introduce it voluntarily. Obvious the new machines being installed read either. Over time, most people will use their phones anyway. But better late than never.
It is not necessarily a moan at all to gave a view. I personally see the change as a superfluous one. People will show a phone ( or a card) to a reader, when we have been previously showing a card to a reader. No clear practical or logistical reason has been given that I've heard, though I might have missed it. So anyone not particularly impressed by such a change is perfectly entitled to say so. Hardly a " moan".
How much can that cost though? They have said that they have to install new turnstiles all around the ground. That will be some cost I can tell you mind . I wonder which costs more. Most people use their old card and they are pennies to produce when needed. What " security"? What " fraud"?
That looks great - no turnstiles and loads of room to get your phone out of your pocket - not very realistic, we'll just have to wait for Terry /Themadmistake to do a proper video of what it will actually look like.
No. I would like to know they are as they haven't been described. A card presents no fraud risk that has been described to me.
The official club digital email informed me that despite our branch members doing as they where advised and going through the branch for tickets, then being told to go as individuals. I contacted Chris W at the club having a moan about it and he is sorting it out so me or another member of the committee can collect all the tickets on behalf of the members affected. Yet again Chris W being the only sane and reasonable person at the club off the field. We would be knackered without him
I've had mine for at least 5 seasons they just reload the same card. Its gonna be carnage first game. Not to mention if a major network goes down and folk can't lose their wallet
dont need network access on phone to use digital ticket as it in you wallet What If My Phone Has No WIFI Or Signal? Your mobile device does not require WIFI connectivity or signal on matchday as long as your Digital Season Ticket / Digital Matchticket is already in your Apple Wallet/Google Pay app prior to arriving at The Stadium of Light. All supporters are strongly advised to download their Digital Tickets into their Apple Wallet/ Google Pay app as soon as they receive their email and prior to match day.
Don't think the wallet(s) rely on a mobile signal. It's already present on your phone QR codes and digital tickets work all over the world - I'm off to Mexico next Friday and the kids will all have their boarding cards on their phones. I was in London last week and had the train tickets on my phone. No huge dramas, a simple scan of a code and we are good
