Becchio and Nunez were on target as a Leeds United XI beat a youthful Chelsea XI at Thorp Arch on Tuesday afternoon.
Becchio scored from the penalty spot and Nunez scored with a terrific free-kick in a behind-closed-doors game that manager Simon Grayson was delighted with.
"It was a good game for us," he said.
"It gave the opportunity to a number of players to get some time on the pitch against good opposition, and it was a good workout.
"Luciano and Ramon both scored which is obviously a boost and it was a good chance for some of our younger players to come up against what was a young, talented Chelsea side.
"I've always said that games like this are important to us and being able to play against the likes of Chelsea can only be of benefit to everyone."
Midfielder Zac Thompson was among the younger professionals in the Leeds side as he continued his comeback from an ankle injury.

You're not laughing at that moron Abramovic for investing money (pah!) in his youth Academy and subsequently losing to thrifty Leeds' Hispanic Heroes?

Any win over a Chelsea side is creditable, well done <ok>

I just thumbed over a few results and it seems like its true Leeds have never ever beaten Chelsea in a cup game of any description.:cheesy:

The fact that they think beating our youth team is worthy of a thread probably says it all really.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Boasting? It's a match report on a reserve game that as far as I can see is copied word for word from the OS.

Yes but your referee assisted effort is laughed at when your ability to stretch a team with nine men has been laughed at by all and sundry.:cheesy::cheesy:

It's always a slow news day with LUFC's current press maestros who spend their time frantically doing **** all.
