I've just watched the brief highlights on Youtube

I have to say that we looked awful. We missed a couple of sitters in the second half and why our goalie parried the ball right into the path of their striker for their goal, i'll never know. We looked worse than my local National League side Maidenhead United!

Obviously i'll caveat my comments by saying that it's pre-season, the players lack sharpness etc but we genuinely looked low on skills. As Championship players, i would have expected a lot more skill and less basic errors. Quite worrying really.

Let's hope it'll be alright on the night!!

The Austrian matches were just matches that were available during the away for a week training and bonding.

The real preseason matches are the next three...Wimbledon, Reading and Oxford.

Yes not Man United or West Ham but remember we don't have a pitch ...and there is no need to play big strong teams to make some money on the gate....and Man Utd won't pay us to play them

Three run outs ...possibly with a good result, will probably be the best scenario

Apologies if this has been asked before but:
1. Why are we playing League 2 Austrian teams? Surely we ought to be pitching ourselves against L1 opposition. I know a win is a win but it feels hollow when it's against such poor opposition.
2. Lewis Wing came to us from Wycombe on a free. I suppose that means that Wycombe didn't rate him sufficiently to offer him a long term deal. Are we expected to get excited by a Wycombe reject?
I read he let his contract run down to move up to the championship.

As said before...this seems a very sensible idea.

Walsh and Mahoney out on loan...getting a season of League 1 experience..
See if one is ready to step up next year.

No...this one is good

Not overly excited but I get it. 12 months. Fills the skill gap and funded by other keepers going out on loan I guess.
More important areas to focus any money we can find down the back of Tony’s couch on new/future additions.

Tony has moved house, and taken his couch with him. Keep up.

Fair play to the club for finding a few roubles to fund this. Good signing. I’d rather **** Archer off and keep one of the others on the bench but can see why you’d loan both.

Amos is off to Reading. Great signing if he can stay fit for more than 20 minutes
I wish him well
