The Championship club will pay £7million ($9.1m), plus additional add-ons, in a permanent deal for the 22-year-old centre-back, who can also play in defensive midfield. A medical will follow in due course. Ampadu has had four loan spells from Chelsea since joining the club from Exeter in 2017. He spent last season at Spezia — making 31 Serie A appearances for the relegated side — after previous temporary spells with RB Leipzig, Sheffield United and Venezia. But the Wales international, who has made just 12 senior appearances for Chelsea, is now set to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis this summer.
Agreed. If he has a decent October to December then someone will be in for him in January. It slightly scuppers West Hams plans as they see him.as a replacement for Declan Rice.
Cos I don't think we'll be promotion favourites this year and the likes of West Ham and Liverpool who have got European Football have been circling since we got relegated.
He’s a good player and I’d be happy if he stayed, it would give us more of a chance of promotion but let’s be honest, he’s not a world beater so can be replaced.
I'd be happy if he stayed but I honestly think he'll be gone in January. It's like Gnonoto there's too much interest in him. I can think of 3 clubs off the top of my head that are interested in him.
It's amazing being in a team sitting top and winning every week. Every day is fun, training is great, team banter is great and you just want to play every day. If we keep hold of Gnonto, Adams, Sinisterra etc and they are playing well, scoring goals, winning games I think it's very difficult to leave that environment. It wouldn't surprise me if the 49ers have told Adams that he may as well stay until he's fit and if he still wants out in January then he can go with their blessing.
