Anybody else remember the massive ****fit Bayern threw when Barca put the moves on Joshua Kimmich a few years ago? Or how they acted like somebody shat in the pope's hat when Barca offered £40m for Lewandowski? No reason why I'm asking that...
Some disrespectful comments from Bayern coming out regarding their pursuit of Kane, they really are an arrogant and up their own arse football club. I hope Levy digs his heels in even more and every time Bayern gob off in the media, adds another 10m to what he considers acceptable. Levy has a lot of well known faults, but I love the way he deals with clubs who try to take our best players.
It's difficult to look at the way Arsenal have backed Arteta and wonder if that same level of support and trust had been given to Poch, where would we be now?
It depends doesn't it, if he had bought more Ndombeles, Lo Celsos, Sanchezs and Sessegnons probably in about the same place!
This is the modus operandi of Bayern , they have been hoovering up the talent of the Bundesliga league for years with very little resistance apart from a few clubs , Levy must tell them we want £ 100 million plus , we are not going to replace Kane even with that money because he is our best striker, best midfielder, England captain, and most likely our next club captain
The rate Hoeness has been gobbing off in the last few days, which indicate the meeting with Levy did not go as well as he's trying to claim, plus the increasingly delirious Bayern fanboys in the press apparently all having psychotic episodes at the same time, I think any negotiations are currently going to look like this please log in to view this image
Florian Plettenberg claims that Ko Itakura has decided against joining us and would rather stay at A German Team Check back in two weeks to see if we post a video of Kane and Itakura doing keepy uppies in training, just to further piss off the Bayern German media...
Anybody notice we haven't been linked with Harry Maguire for 3-4 weeks? Good to know, given he's been stripped of the Man Utd captaincy...
If Tottenham are to compete at the top level, they need to attract the calibre of playera.that West Ham and Chelsea do at youth level, and be prepared to go that extra mile to secure that top signing. So a Chiesa type signing and not a Watkins, Calvert-Lewin or Toney type.
Marco Conterio reckons Napoli are negotiating for Lo Celso. We want €25m, they’ve offered €15m. I’d take that and just be rid of him. I’d hate to risk the chance of clearing the decks of deadwood because we’re trying to squeeze more from deals. There’s little bargaining power on our part with him and a number of these players, the most important thing is just literally getting them out and off the wage bill.
I wouldn't, for one obvious reason: Marca are reporting that Barca seem to have given up on signing Bernardo Silva, so are looking to sign Lo Celso instead That'll hopefully start the offers ticking upwards...
1. If his current wages are 100K/week that is half the difference in valuations immediately accrued. 2. Weight most of the money on "add-on" clauses. However I cannot think of many clauses other than cumulative game time + starting XI counts, that will more easily get the extra 10m.
Barca are more or less skint nowadays, can’t see them turning anything into a bidding war that’ll raise Lo Celso’s price. Only way a deal with them likely happens is if Lenglet and a small fee comes our way, or a “loan with option” deal that they’ll likely have zero intent on actually triggering. I’d rather just take Napoli’s €15m. Gets him off the wage bill and it’s a solid £12m or so towards the two new CB funds that we’re taking our merry time on sorting.
Villa and Betis are also reportedly sniffing around, so there's certainly reason to not accept the first bid that comes in Compare that to Ndombele, who there's no real interest from anyone this summer (or last summer, or the summer before that...) that's more a player where we take the first offer we get, not least in case the Saudis are making the same mistakes the Chinese Super League did when average players were heading there for absurd wages
Betis are pretty skint too though. Villa the only club that could likely offer a fee that’d match or better Napoli’s and chances are they won’t. Priority at the moment seems to be on wingers, with Diaby and Doku on their radar. Napoli’s offer is pretty fair anyway I think. Anything between £10m-£15m is probably about right. And it gets a non-HG player on about £70k off the wage bill.
That's another reason Ndombele being of interest to nobody is an issue: getting shot of him would get £120k off the wage bill every week, which would likely cover the weekly wage of both Tapsoba and van de Ven on its own ...yes, I have been at the Football Manager again
Santi Aouna claims that PSG are looking to see if they can agree terms with Harry Kane, and if they can they are willing to make an offer that is too good to refuse So, £100m + one random Spurs fan bricking in Uli Hoeness' mouth every single morning?
