Good Morning. It's Monday 17th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Adams injury has perhaps delayed too much transfer movement

Tyler Adams' injury status could be the main reason why we haven't seen much transfer movement surrounding the USA Skipper; CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has told 'the Breakfast Debate'.

It's four months to the day that Adams suffered a grade three hamstring tear, during the final training session before the Wolves match on the 18th March. Subsequent scans showed the extent of the injury meant there was no option, but to under under the surgeon's knife.

According to Jacobs, both Daniel Farke and 49ers Enterprises see the 24yo as a pivotal part of the team, and if Leeds are to stand any chance of bouncing back up on the first attempt, they will need to retain his services.

Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham and Roma have all expressed their interest, but even if a club were to come along, and offer the kind of money needed, to prize away their biggest asset, Adams is in no fit state to pass a medical.

"Leeds would love to keep Tyler Adams. Daniel Farke views him as the perfect player to help get Leeds back up. There is a naturally a lot of interest. Aston Villa still want to strengthen their midfield even with the arrival of Youri Tielemans. Everton, West Ham and Roma have looked as well."

"Adams recovering from injury has perhaps delayed too much movement. It’s going to be tough to keep Adams if the right offer lands, but Leeds do intend to try rather than solely resigning themselves to an exit. Adams is also a leader and model professional and if he stays he’ll relish the chance of getting Leeds back up first time."

Leeds haven't left it too late to build a squad capable of automatic promotion

With less than three weeks left until the Championship season kicks-off, Leeds fans would be forgiven for feeling a little anxious! The takeover is yet to happened, still no Summer signings and players are leaving quicker than the demise of Huw Edwards' career!

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs believes there is enough time left in the transfer window to rebuild a squad capable of automatic promotion; insisting that the club need to know who is going to leave, before they start recruiting.

Bristol City's highly regarded midfielder Alex Scott and Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun were high on the Leeds Utd most wanted list, however, that was before relegation spoilt the party. Nat Phillips is a likely target, after Robin Koch's moved to Eintracht Frankfurt last week, but Liverpool want £10m for their centre-back and have already turned down their request for a loan move.

Equally, the club are weighing up the option on whether Karl Darlow (Newcastle) or Alexander Nubel (Bayern Munich) would be best equipped to take the No 1 shirt from Illan Meslier. According to Jacobs, much will depend on whether Leeds can keep the likes of Luis Sinisterra, and of course Tyler Adams.

Speaking exclusively to the Breakfast Debate, Jacobs reported "It's not necessarily about leaving it too late to build a new squad capable of promotion. First Leeds had to understand who might exit. And from there the strategy changes. For example, there was an obligation to buy Weston McKennie had Leeds stayed up."

"By going down, McKennie was always going to leave and that means finding an extra body compared to being obligated to keep one, which in this case might not have been ideal either. I think Leeds and McKennie were both glad to part ways in the end."

"Leeds also wanted to enter the race for talented Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott and considered Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun. But as soon as relegation happened both targets became impossible to pursue.

"The squad is certainly more depleted. Rasmus Kristensen has joined Roma on loan and Rodrigo has moved to Qatari side Al-Rayyan. But there’s plenty of time left in the window. Keeping Luis Sinisterra would be a big boost. Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips is one possible incoming. Leeds need to strengthen in that area after Robin Koch's loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt."

    Farke looking to offload Bamford

Multiple media sources are suggesting that Daniel Farke is looking to offload Patrick Bamford this Summer. The 29yo, a £10m signing five years ago during Bielsa's reign, was instrumental in helping the Whites achieve promotion, and took the Premier League by storm the season after.

Unfortunately, injuries have taken it's toll, and by the 21/22 season, the wheels had came completely off (along with other body parts). Last season, he looked a shadow of his former self, missing opportunities that even Enoch Showunmi would have put away.

During the Manchester Utd friendly last week, Bamford showed very little, and looked completely disinterested. He has three years left on his contract, and after Rodrigo's departure last week, is believed to be the the highest paid member of the squad (along with Rutter).

Can Bmford perform for Leeds in the Championship, or is there too much bad blood after the Elland Road faithful turned on him last season?

If Meslier and the other players from last season decide they want to stay we may as well keep them instead of letting them go out on loan for a paltry £500,000. Saves money having to replace them too.

Good morning all is it red herring day?. First of all Rasmus leaving is a gain not a loss as we are stronger without him. Bamford does not like leeds supporters it's a fact.
We are very imminently due to be taken over by the massive 49ers investment group. So i do not understand why we cannot sign a player from Bristol city. If they fail to land those standards of player then just who will we end up with.
Fed up with high end leeds utd rip of prices then have a look at this link. Ok they are not dirt cheap but make a nice change and not run of the mill.

Yes we should make the ones left honour there contracts. If they want out then ask top dollar for them and let's see who comes up with top offers.

Do we think our due dilligence in the contracts department will have counted (and restricted at the time) how many players have automatically triggered loan release clauses in their contracts?

Wolves have had a £20m and £22m bid for Alex Scott turned down. I bet Bristol City won't loan him out!!!

It's being reported now that we're very close to finalising the signing of Ethan Ampadu (CB) from Chelsea. The encouraging thing about this transfer is that we weren't heavily linked with him until now so perhaps that's a sign that plenty has been going on behind the scenes that we haven't heard about.
