I'm not sure he's a battering ram type of person, but he could be used up front as a target man I'd still like to see us put in a bid for somebody like Ivan Toney, if he'd be prepared to be a squad player.
This is a hugely risky and bold thing to do considering we're trying to overcome the current treble (cheaters) winners. £65m isn't a small amount. This gamble simply cannot afford to fail. Otherwise we're a bit ****ed.
It's going to be interesting to see who locks down that 8 role. I have a feeling Havertz is going to have to find his best form to hold back ESR.
he can occupy CB's and hold up the ball but yes he's no Joe Jordan . Personally i'm most in agreement with the last part of your post but i just assumed a target man ,albeit not a top one, was one of the plans .
We remain financially sound. I think we have spent around 500m net under Arteta, but that was for a major rebuild pretty much replacing the entire squad except for talented youngsters. That spend along with young player development has resulted in a squad valued the 2nd highest in the world at well over 1bn. We’ve spent far less to build it than others. Smart buying. In tandem our wages were cut significantly to the extent that even with all the new big contracts our wages are c20m lower a year than at its peak under Wenger. I do think the squad is pretty much on a level now and future years will see only tweaks.
Arsenal's XI vs the MLS All-Stars team: Trossard in midfield? Interesting. Will be intriguing to see how that works out.
Really good scoreline and some great goals last night. Team looks sharp and great to see Havertz scoring. That goal from Jesus was filthy
We won 5-0 in the end. Goals from Jesus, Trossard, Jorginho, Martinelli and Havertz did the business. There was some wonderful football on display too. All goals (with Spanish commentary).
Yeah lovely finishes. A few defensive lapses but played some good stuff. Looking forward to going to the Emirates Cup matches now.
Pleased Havertz scored to shut the mouths of the haters. Jesus and Trossard goals superb. Martinelli the best goal of the bunch. Pass by Ode was class. Saliba looked imperious. Good run out.
Anybody know if there's a stream to watch the Utd game tonight ? Apart from paying £6.99 on Arsenal.com
Might have found one here, albeit a Man Utd channel! https://livefootballtodaymatch.com/live-streaming-server/
