Yep. Carsley deserves huge credit. England played by far the best football of the tournament by all accounts and didn't concede a goal. Credit should go to Southgate and the FA too, as there has been a plan in place for a few years at St George's Park and England have now won major tournaments at all the younger levels. Southgate has apparently been instrumental in ensuring that all the age groups play the same way. England are no longer lacking in technical ability throughout the levels. The future is very bright.
Did anyone hear Damian Lewis's rendition of God Save The King at the British Grand Prix? . Good Lord!!
Austrian 3rd division giants. Mind you we never claimed to be any good at quidditch. Or whatever it’s called. Meanwhile centre court is half empty for the men’s doubles final, which involves a Brit none of us have heard of. Why is this narrow interest competition protected on the BBC while the Ashes etc aren’t?
Not much of a tennis fan but normally watch Wimbledon for an hour here or there but this year has completely passed me by. I assume our plucky well-funded British hopefuls made it to at least the second round.
No idea this is the first timeIve looked for more than 5 minutes. Actually it’s just on the telly, I’m not concentrating on it. Used to love Wimbledon in the seventies/ early eighties, lost all interest shortly after.
I know it's only a friendly and it's the Austrian equivalent of National League North side, but a win is a win. Hopefully it will give the squad some confidence.
