Good Luck <ok>

Hope we can get away Saurday, southwards to the Alps foothills for, hopefully, some cooler weather. So, better put my modest punts up for tomorrow. Here goes:

Saturdays are always pretty tough to find a winner for me, and so a couple who might do a bit better from their LTO runs:

16:00 Newmarket, Bunbury Cup, Class-2 Heritage Handicap over 7f.
Have to give another chance to the Zoffany gelding, Biggles, after a tough run at Royal Ascot in the Buckingham Palace Stakes in which he finished 9th of the 29-runners. Has a very good opportunity to run a big one in this event. Well-drawn in Stall-18 in the 20-runner field. Ryan Moore takes the ride again for the Ralph Beckett yard.
8/1 is the general best price at time of writing. Would be surprised if it's much more than that!
....................

14:35 York, Class-1 Stakes over 5f.
Hope to see Great State improve on his last run at Sandown 28-days ago.
Speedy sort who should give it a good go over this sprint event. Oisin Orr rides for the Richard Fahey stable.
9/1 best price and is available in many places at time of writing.

....................

Win on each and E/W double

....................

Have an enjoyable and succesful afternoon, folks :emoticon-0167-beer:.

Heading down to Garmisch Swanny? I wanted to do that last weekend but I saw the train from Munich to Garmisch is still not running after the accident last year. Broken Germany?

Come to not so sunny Shropshire Swanny. Autumnal feel to the weather today though cant complain as we’ve had it pretty good the last couple of months. Enjoy your break

Apologies, Oddy, getting totally mixed-up, as usual. Don't know what on earth is the matter with the Garmisch rail link, but the Munich Central Bus Station (ZOB) has long-distance bus links to most places. Have a good trip whenever you decide to go down to Garmisch.

Here's some ZOB blurb:

"The bus station ZOB Munich is not only one of the most important transport hubs in southern Germany, but also a lively shopping arcade with numerous shops, snack bars and restaurants. Tickets for the long-distance buses can not only be purchased online from the respective long-distance bus providers, but also directly on site at the ticket counters in the Munich Central Bus Station."

Forgot to add that the ZOB is situated right by the Hackerbrücke S-Bahn Station (just one short stop from Munich Central Railway Station). The platform on the far-right at Hackerbrücke has direct access to the ZOB Central Bus Station complex entrance. Just follow the crowd! :emoticon-0100-smile

(Trip south-eastwards to the Alps foothills cancelled for today, as daughter was feeling a bit 'below par'. Never mind, her health comes first, of course).

The Group-1 July Cup at Newmarket over 6f (16:35) certainly has a few top-class sprinters, as one would expect. Maybe Little Big Bear can gain his revenge on the RA defeat LTO by Shaquille, but one can't be sure! Plenty of others in with stellar chances too.

So, I'll go with Little Big Bear. Ryan Moore rides as usual for the mighty Aidan O'Brien yard.

4/1 is the best price in just about all places at time of writing.

Not sure how meaningful this is but the Class 2 over 7f at Newmarket was won by a 3yo filly in 1m 25.92s (slow by 2.82s)
70 mins later City of Troy won the G2 Superlative Stakes in 1m 26.03s (slow by 2.93s). That's 0.11 secs slower but the 2yo was carrying 13lb more and won rather easily by 6l. In the other 2yo 7F race (Class 3 fillies), that time was 1m 28.42s (slow by 5.32s)
