well said and spot on there. 100% agree. it was said on blunderside yesterday by burnsie that NB asked to be made the caretaker manager for now.
Surely he will only be allowed to bring a number 2 in if he is offerd the manager's job on a permanent basis?
i think his no.2 will be just a short term appointment BUT someone who Nick has asked for personally. just to help out at the start. the rest as they say will fall into place in due time. i think alot will be more clear in jan. thats when some BIG decisions will be made. imo.
If Nick is allowed to bring his No.2 in then all the signs are there that City want Nick to succeed in the job long term
have i missed something here ? has Phil Brown been sacked.? yes Brian Horton would be my choice and a perfect No.2
agreed. i think everyone does.. NP leaving could be the best thing in years. NB knows the game inside out and for sure will have watched and learned from NP. i know which of the 2 i would want to play for ?
HDM have said in their article about Barmby today that.. 'another experienced number two, set to be unveiled today' Interesting. Surely won't be Nobby?
well with Prestons recent results Pb looks on dodgy ground. so it maybe wise for Nobby to bail out and come back. hope so. El Tell is also available for now. lol.
Personally I feel Nick Barmby wont want the managers job, as he still wants to play. However he will want to have an active assistant role. .....Wheres Barmbys mate - Terry Venables?
glad i am not the only one with this thought ? NB wont hang up his boots yet ? still can come off the bench for 20 mins when needed.
I think nick could do pretty good. Always seemed to develop close relationships with previous managers and that suggests he was on their level
As Tickler says, Nicky is no fool and will be quite aware that he needs an experienced hand behind him, especially as he is taking over with six very difficult games coming up. In fact couldn't be a worse baptism, I think no matter who came in at this point would be struggling to get much out of these games so I hope and pray that the usual knuckle draggers on here don't get on his back if he doesn't lead the team to maximum points. Best of luck Nicky, UTT.
If as suggested Nick is allowed to bring in an assistant then it shows that the club want this to become permanent. As for who the assistant will be, well just look at the clubs he has played for including England at every level and consider who would have been managers/assistants/coaches at those clubs, that gives him an awful lot of names to go through
