That wasn’t what he wrote though, and isn’t what was unique about Grimsby Town which was they don’t play in the same city. And a lot of teams don’t play in the place they named after. Chelsea are one, though they are in the city Chelsea is in. Some will claim Arsenal but they dropped the Woolwich from their name. There is no actual place called Port Vale so they don’t count. Everton are in Walton but that is in the city where Everton is. Can you name any of these plenty of teams?

Bolton play in Horwich, but that’s part of the metropolitan borough of Bolton which I'm guessing you’ll claim means they play in Bolton. Although the metropolitan borough of Bolton is part of Greater Manchester so maybe they play in Manchester in your eyes?

And your statement does not align with original posters mention of what was said about Grimsby. Bolton, at the time the poster was talking about played in Bolton at Burnden Park. Remember the time City were one of them as they were in Humberside.

I said plenty of teams don’t play at n the place they’re named after. That’s clearly true. I didn’t factor in they don’t count if it’s the same city. Sorry! I have put Forest forward as an example and Man Utd play in Trafford. Trafford is greater Manchester, so if you’re including that as Manchester then you should really include all the greater Manchester teams as being in Manchester.
