It's not a classic, but had I never heard of Sports Direct or Ashley, that wouldn't look even slightly out of place!

If we're going to be lumbered with sportsdirect on the strip, changing the colours to match the strip would certainly soften the blow. MA wont though (since the colours are part of the brand recognition)

I think you should mock up Mike's actual intentions. In 5 years time he sees us as Sports Direct United, wearing red and blue, playing at the Sports Direct Arena.

    Don't be daft.

We won't play in red and blue, we'd play in whatever kit is on sale in the shop that week.

It all makes so much sense...Bringing in all these french lads, getting us accustomed to, even celebrating their national flag...We've been had lads, they're pulling the wool(en turtle necks, complete with string of onions and beret) over our eyes...Out with the french, in with the brits, down with drapeau tricolore, in with the union jack...There'll be no red white and blue at my clu...oh wait...

Red Bull Salzburg - it most certainly is unfortunately. Given it is no more trampling on tradition than it is to change the stadium name, be afraid!

The French are on the march over here now. You can't build something without giving the French money! The same french company owns Travis Perkins, Jewsons, Tyneside Timber, just about any building supplier!! They own Northumbrian Water to.. That's right they could kill us all of thirst if they wanted. We're being overrun from within.

There's actually uproar about the NW thing. They have taken over and upped the rent of the employees who are posted in their various cottages on reservoirs in the back of beyond. Its gone from 70 quid a month to £400 smackeroos a month! That's gotta hurt.

I still can't see it happening over here, certainly not in a club like Newcastle. The council would protest, the FA would object, and fans wouldn't stand for it.

On the plus side after a quick Wiki research SV Austria Salzburg (the AFC Wimbledon equivalent) have been promoted 4 times in 4 years, now in the 3rd tier!

Unfortunately though, the fans, council and FA have no legal right to challenge it. He's thick skinned enough for it. Maybe the saving grace is that a lot of people would then hit him in the pocket by not going. Our love is blind but we're not ****ing idiots!

I know I was the one who asked 'where is the line?' regarding tradition and the stadium (with me not minding too much, preferring the name change to a stadium move or ticket hike) but I think even I would vote with my feet if that were to happen.

I'm not buying another Puma one unless they hugely improve the quality. Or until they're on sale for around £20 at the end of the season.

In all seriousness though he is all about the money and the stadium name is probably the limit before business suicide.
