Pishing of rain in Aberdoom again It's ****ing depressing, the whole month has just been precipitous. On a brighter note though................................ please log in to view this image Lovely looking houses in the background
"Climate" has killed off hundreds of thousands of species over the life span of the Earth, it's bound to be our turn at some point. Life on Earth would never have developed such variety if the climate never changed and every time it does the next developement has been more advanced and hardier than the last. There are of course many species that have adapted to the climate/enviroment throughout history but these are more likely to be insectile. The salient point here being climate changes, species either adapt to it or die.
I was watching something on youtube a few days ago, jellyfish are even older than the dinosaurs - they were even used for experiments in space with zero gravity, where they thrived and multiplied, but on their return to earth, all the ones born in space died.
Whales, turtles and a variety of other creatures would have been made extinct and multi-millions of people would not exist, or be in very poor health and 95% more people would have died in natural disasters if we hadn't discovered the many uses for oil and fossil fuels.
Jellyfish and Octupi are ****ing weird mate and i often think of them as alien life that came here on meteorites as eggs. I read an artical where scientists cut pieces off a jelyfish and obsereved it, the parts grew back. You may think this is not extraordinary as many species can grow parts back but that's where it got deep. Apparently jellyfish don't have a brain as such (weird?) but do have nerve clusters and a nerve centre (which would normally be connected to a brain) so they cut the nerve center out, it grew back. They can't explain how this can be possible yet it happens.
Some claim that octopi have evolved in a way that is so far removed from other species, they are effectively alien.
The problem with ****ing weirdos like the Just Stop Oil mob (have you seen the state of them, definate outcasts from normal society) is that they have absolutely no clue what oil is used for other than fuel. They don't realise that a large part of their way of life is largely oil based right down to the electric wires running through the walls of their homes and the window frames and doors. Virtually everything they use daily or own has oil based componants but yeah, just stop it now.
The spokesperson seems to change for every interview, as one by one they show that they lack a credible argument and seem to demand things that would kill millions and leave even more in deprivation, or be things that are already due to happen anyway. I can't believe that anyone would actually see them as having a meaningful argument.
They are one of the species meant with "not extraodinary" as several can grow parts back (crabs being another) but jellyfish are unique in growing the nerve center back as this usually means the end of life.
Some jellyfish can rejuvenate so effectively, they're to all intents immortal. I think it was a jellyfish that has a brain shaped like a doughnut, which means its food passes through its brain.
Well when you think about it mate my theory was that they may have arrived as eggs on meterorites. Now, given that the Earth is constantly bombarded with these things and has been since it first formed and two thirds of the Earth are covered in water what kind of terrain do you think the majority of these meteorites would land in? Take that further and think of how much empty space so to speak exists in the oceans compared to land and guess where he safest place would be for eggs to hatch without too many predators around.
