It’s not comedy gold at all. Cuts have got to be made it’s as simple as that. People can get ‘all hot under the collar' about it and protest as much as they want but at the end of the day we can’t continue as we are and things, unfortunately, have to change. 13 years of total mismanagement by Mr Boom and Mr Bust have left us in the current malaise.

Barney, cuts don't need to happen, its the NHS and the benefit society that is the issue that cripples this nation. The other issue is the b word that is always banded about, without as much red tape things would be done cheaper and much better. Cuts are going to be too deep

And agree Nass, some sort of private health care must come in to the system, the free at the point of entry is ideal for a working nation, but far to many free loaders are abusing the system to maintain benefits payments if you graft or prove that you want to graft, then get fixed for free if not join the cue, leave the country or go else where and find a free fix, these are hard times my friends and every body is/will be affected
That plus the complete lack of accountability in the public sector - if private companies performed like that they'd have gone to the wall decades ago.
The right stuff there is only one D&B - the rest are ****e - its like the only coke is coca-cola none of this **** they sell in supermarkets
Dan - in Germany they introduced a €10 first visit charge each 3 months for visiting any doctors, soon put paid to the bloody hypochondriacs and free loaders
Brings back memories of Friday's as a kid - off to the local chippy, cod and chips (or sometimes a pie) and a bottle of Dandelion & Burdock. Marvellous isn't it?
