We've cruised through this competition. Haven't conceded a goal, and we have so many good players all over the pitch. Last night we even had players like Harvey Elliott and Noni Madueke on the bench! Shows the quality in that age group. Just a shame Tino wasn't fit enough in time, because James Garner, typically a CM, has been shoe-horned into right back for most games. Cameron Archer, even though he's mostly been used as a sub, looks brilliant, and not having him will be a massive loss to Boro this season. Will be watching his progress at Villa because he's a future star for sure.
Not to mention players like Bellingham and Saka would be in the team if they wern't so good that they are already full international regulars.
I hadn’t thought about Tina going, forgot he would have likely played. We have a good crop of youngsters, think we could be in for a major men’s trophy in the next decade. Never thought id see it in my lifetime, although still think we threw away the last Euro’s v Italy. I also thought Lee Carsley would flop and be sacked, he proved me wrong, or are the team just so good it didn’t matter? To be fair, id give him lots of credit, they’ve played well.
Way I see it, you have to set the target of regularly reaching finals. It's too much to expect any manager/team to actually win silverware, since there are so many other strong teams. And the final of any competition is always tight, always emotional, and more often than not decided by one moment of brilliance, or one mistake. Basically, what I'm saying is, our fans need to get over the Italy game, and just celebrate the fact we got to a final. If we forever remain negative, despite achieving above our expectations, then the pressure on the players/managers will continue to be a psychological hindrance.
Real Madrid have signed Arda Guler. When they sign Mbappe managing them on FM will be such a piece of piss.
There are several 23 y.o. playing and it's possible to turn out for seniors and U21s. The team is for England players aged under 21 at the start of the calendar year in which a two-year UEFA European Under-21 Championship campaign begins, so some players can remain with the squad until the age of 23. As long as they are eligible, players can play for England at any level, making it possible to play for the U21s, senior side, and again for the U21s, as Jack Butland, Harry Kane, Calum Chambers, John Stones and Emile Smith Rowe have done.
Talking of video games, Onuachu got a Shapeshifter card on Fifa this week. That makes him one of the world’s best defenders!
Trafford should retire now, career highlight at the age of 20. Peaked too early. Shame really, could have been a legend.
Colwill is f*cking brilliant. Very reassuring having him coming up. Palmer and Madueke also very good.
Watched it on a stream with Spanish commentary. Almost felt sorry for them when the final whistle blew, well almost, just a bit well actually not much at all.
Very uncomfortable interview with Adele Ali on SkySports Otherside. Sad to hear event he bare bones of what he went thru growing up. No surprise that he has had a hard time recently. I guess It’s never fair to judge anyone without knowing their truth. He spoke pretty well considering that he probably did nt want to be doing the interview. Sounds like he was hounded into it by the tabloid press.
