Good Morning. It's Friday 14th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Another day, another player out on loan Rasmus Kristensen is set to be unveiled as a Roma player this weekend after agreeing personal terms with the Giallorossi (The Yellow and Reds). The Danish International right-back has flown out to the Stadio Olimpico, where he'll link up with fellow White Diego Llorente who completed his move to Jose Mourinho's side earlier this week Both players have signed season long loans, with Roma havinf full control, by having the option to make the deals permanent at a fixed price, should they wish. Am I the only one struggling to get my head around this loan deal thing? We've lost Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca all on loan; is this normal? I understand the need to bring the wage bill down, but lets remember that every player on the Leeds roster will have had their wages slashed by 50% - 60% following relegation, whilst tens of millions of pounds have been lost by not selling their prized assets. It has been suggested that Leeds have received £3m from Al-Rayyan for the services of Rodrigo, yet the income generated by the other loans are negligible. What next, are the club planning to loan out club shirts this season, for us to return them a little worse for wear next May? That's what they're doing to our players!!!!! please log in to view this image Bayern Munich shot stopper on Leeds radar Bayern Munich shot stopper Alex Nubel could be on his way to Elland Road, if reports from the Daily Mail are to be believed. He arrived at the Allianz Arena in the Summer of 2020, after refusing a new deal at Schalke 04, but has little chance of being handed the No1 jersey anytime soon. He had a successful two year loan spell with Monaco, where he made 76 appearances Once dubbed the next Manuel Neuer, the 6' 3 inch has plenty of admirers, and Leeds would be doing well to attract a keeper of his standard to the Championship. Sources indicate he's available for around €8million (£6.8million), a more expensive option than either Viktor Johansson or Karl Darlow. Illan Meslier's days at Elland Road are numbered. He wasn't included in the pre-season tour of Norway and is unlikely to feature for the Whites again. please log in to view this image Speculation growing Dykes could be on his way to ER Speculation is growing that Lee Dykes could be on his way to Elland Road. The 39yo is currently employed by Brentford as their Director of Football; a role he has excelled in, since joining the Bees from Bury four years ago. He's responsible for such signings as Bryan Mbeumo (£5.8m from Troyes), David Raya (£3m from Blackburn), Ethan Pinnock (£3m from Barnsley), Ivan Toney (£5m plus add ons from Peterborough Utd), Yoane Wissa (£8.5m from Lorient) and Christian Eriksen (unattached - free) amongst many others. It's challenging not to cringe when you read through the list of signings, Leeds have made in recent years, and try to find more than a handful of players, who have fulfilled their potential. It's very easy to blame Victor Orta, especially as he is no longer at the club, but after the Jean-Kevin Augustin debacle, he should have been kept on a shorter leash. In recent months, Dykes has been linked with similar roles with both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham, but nothing materialised. He turned down the chance to join Manchester Utd last Summer, opting to stay in West London. Bringing someone of his talents to Elland Road, would be a major coup for 49ers Enterprises, lets hope they can make it happen! please log in to view this image
Morning all. So the Brentford lad turned down scum to stay in London but will join us to move to Leeds. WHY? Has Wakey offered him exclusive accesss to his swingers club
Is the loan situation normal? No. We should be in a position of power (less power than the PL) but still at least demand money for our better players, ship out on loan who we don’t want and keep who we want to keep within reason (being good enough, low enough wage to keep). Probably the second worst Orta move bar not actually replacing old players with better ones.
Remember dykes at my hometown club bury he has certainly done great stuff at the bees and we will be very lucky if we can snare him ...the loanees who have left I couldn't give a fig about and I never want any of them back in a Leeds shirt, who of any of them made an impact. Aaronson looked as if a good steak would kill him ...Roca pedestrian...kristensen...big Dane who I thought would be a killer, turned out was a carthorse....llorente cultured CB who couldn't hack the English game better where he is...Koch a few decent games but not enough to think this guy's the business....why not try and tempt Bayern with a swap and 10 mill to us for mes, or given our negotiating skills just a swap
Morning all Been thinking about the glut of no ambition players like Rodrigo heading off to the Middle East. I have no problem with them sitting by a pool in the sun and fleecing the Arabs for a few million but can't help thinking the whole thing will never catch on, the marketing is rubbish. All of the teams sound like Lebanese Restaurants, they need to liven it up for example, Abu Dhabi Cosmos or Jeddah Jets. Maybe Doc could top up his pension advising them Actually, this has potential, Eire could get the contract making new signs for all the Stadiums. Wakey could drive him over with a lorry load of finest Galway Perspex (obviously they would have to take the ferry from Rosslare to Aqaba in Jordan before Milky points out you can't drive from Ireland to the Middle East). Whilst Eire is putting up signs Wakey could be doing his own erecting with his travelling gigolo show - guys, by this time next year you could be millionnaires
You could be onto something. Must admit Id never considered the Middle East. Are you interested in a partnership, we could have a crack at the Dragons den and fleece them first. As you're the smooth talker, you can look after negotiations, nobody would understand me
Good morning. The loan situation is frustrating but let's be honest we've just got rid of the deadwood and Rodrigo was certain to go. The important stuff starts now. Firstly who we can keep out of Harrison, Gnonto, Sini, Summerville, Adams, Wober etc. Secondly, who can we bring in. 3 weeks until the start of the season. Tick Tock.
Friday 14th of July and still we have Meslier i am getting worried he will stay. Him and rasmus were my main 2 to be gone.
Rumours that 49ers are saying Gnonto's wages are affordable for the championship and don't want him to leave and are prepared to play hardball to make him stay, stating the £18.8m offered is not enough to make them even think about it.
Nubel rumour gathering pace, hold up atm Bayern want a buy back clause, which Leeds aren't prepared to accept the terms. Player not even spoken to though, so could be miles away yet, if at all.
The only real transfer rumour that makes sense, has a lot of media predicting it and now some serious kudos, seems to be Nubel from Bayern Munich to Leeds for £6m. The sticking point so far seems to be a demand to be able to buy him back and how that looks. First refusal if we put him up for sale….. Bayern have been looking for a new keeper for almost a year and are on the verge of bringing in 2 which means Nubel is surplus but a couple of prem clubs in the hunt as well as Euro clubs. Leeds do however seem to be ahead of the game and can guarantee starting place. Hope it happens
I've seen a lot this morning saying the Nubel move is impossible. He won't even consider a Championship move. My first thought when I saw the link was why would he come to us.
