He would live in Madrid rather than Manchester.

It's not exactly a rumour when the player's agent is publicly talking about his release clause and when it activates

Perhaps he feels that Madrid will be far :

    1. more amenable weather-ise
    2. less likely to collapse under UEFA FFP

    than at Citeh,

So given he already has the medals in his pocket
from season 1, he doesn't have to wait around now.

If the man wants to get a life-changing salary,
and cares not how the world regards his palmares,
    then good for him.

Talkshiete were suggesting Horrendo will be trousering 700K a week if he joins up with Slipper G in Saudi. Crazy money for essentially a work horse with limited ability.

A work horse with limited ability that has Champions league and Premier league winning medals alongside several other cup winning medals.
Must have been a real heavy burden for his team to carry and compensate for his mediocre ability.

I will be disappointed with Henderson if he goes to Saudi, I actually have a lot of time for him, he is a good 'team' player, not what Gullitt would call a 'sexy' player, but one of those players who makes a team better just by doing things well.

But he has also in the past seemed to have a decent moral compass, and been at the forefront of footballers trying to do the right thing.

Now he is not a poor man by anybodies standards so although the Saudi wages are eye watering he is already paid a very good salary for kicking a ball around (£175,000 a week!) and will probably have earnt enough in his Liverpool career to sustain him. I hope he stands up for his beliefs and rejects the Saudi money on the all moral grounds surrounding that countries culture. If he does he will have earnt less money but more respect, unfortunately the money will probably win him over and I think that's sad.

Not to go too "holier than thou" , but I would ask what his
intent is with all that money he will be earning.

If tis something good (and perhaps contrary to the
worst aspects of the social regime there) , then perhaps
    you could tolerate it.

For just personal enrichment, or being a gobsh*te
hypocrite likes the football Garys, then I certainly
    would condemn him .

For £700k a week a lot of morals disappear.

I’d probably lose all my morals for about £5k-£10k a week to be fair <laugh>

All to do with the odds. 55/1 is decent returns.
Same person probably has a few on £ity to be champions.

Someone wealthy + with my mentailty would
immediately put 10K on that wager just to see
how seriously the odds then drop.
