They'll have a great season next season. Depending on how the conference league plays out, they might finish top 6

I don’t understand how Villa can spend all this dough. They have not got the turnover and levels of income we have.

How can they do these deals?

They're years ahead of Newcastle in terms of growth off the pitch... looks like they'll get Diaby for 40 to 50 million .

I won't be surprised if they have a season like Newcastle last season.... Diaby and that cb are both wow signings and let's not forget they absolutely schooled Newcastle and their press last time we played them.

They're a bigger club than Newcastle basically... they obviously have a bigger pull.. Emery and diaby turned Newcastle down.

They must be doing something right cause Villa irritate the life out of me. Like a fly round ****, should have been relegated with the sheff united game. Just seem to get away with stuff.

Can’t be the location put it that way, was in Aston last weekend, absolute dive.

We did well getting Hendrick for free and he scored on his debut, think everyone was after him at the time.

They had their takeover years ago so are quite a way ahead of Newcastle in terms of the build. They have super rich owners themselves and clearly have the same ambition.

I think Howe prefers safer signings than diaby.. if you look at Newcastles business its been very safe without many particularly exciting transfers.

Diaby is small newcastle don't seem to like small players at all.

He’s far from alone in the game. Baffling tbh

Once villa complete the Diaby signing we can pretend Newcastle used him as a smokescreen to sign chiesa and when chiesa signs for Liverpool we can say we'd rather have Barnes who was always our main target.

As othwrs have said, they are way ahead in the club being developed. A key difference in terms of spend/FFP is they have sold players for big money as well - unlike us. Grealish alone was over £100m. So while their spend has been big, their net spend will be OK.

Look, we always wanted to keep Ryan Fraser, OK. All that other noise was just a PR distraction so we could negotiate a new deal.

    Diaby is overrated anyway.

Not long since Newcastle were linked with £100M rated Diaby. You have to laugh

Yeah I believe Arsenal were told 100 million also. I suppose Arsenal are after a bigger fish and Newcastle prefer taking Barnes.

Barnes might prove to be the better signing anyway... I mean there's a load of these fancy names end up being out of their depth in this league.

I think the issue at the moment is that we are being linked to some fantastic players which only makes it worse when they sign for teams competing against us in the league

Newcastle have a very difficult start I hope people don't freak out if they're in the bottom 3 after 3 games.
