"good day to buried bad news".

Was the same with the Titan disaster an few weeks ago, all eyes on that meanwhile Joe Bidens son was buried on the back pages for a few crimes. People think I'm mad at times but there's always something roughly every 3 weeks.

Bojo party gate
Schofield
Harry's courtroom debacle
Ukrain
Titan
Now this BBC **** show

Seems like planned diversion tactics all the time. Other than the Ukraine, these stories come and go as fast as they showed up.

said the same thing myself, always some emergency/shocking story emerges...always look for the 'hidden news' when such things erupt on the news.

Absolutely not coincidental. Right wing press always in sync with government, and also BBC nowadays sadly.

I've long suspected Asquith, the PM at the time, had the Titanic sunk to avoid awkward questions about impending civil war in Ireland.

I was speculating mate, not having the facts in front of me,about the role of the newspaper. I never suggested the presenter was innocent....the fifth word of my post was "if".
Looks like a fifth Allegation of send harassing's and explicit messages to other staff members of the BBC..

This is where I stand. No criminal charges have been brought against him, the young person says the claims from her estranged family are rubbish. It's all unsubstantiated claims from a filthy tabloid intent on bringing him down. All the additional stuff from other alleged victims is tittle tattle and a few dodgy messages. He probably is a bit of a wrong one and clearly hasn't acted as he should have but the pile on from all us whiter than white individuals who have never done anythjng wrong has typically been ridiculous
5 people have come forward, so far. I’d say he’s clearly another perverted bully at the BBC who has been using his status and position to intimidate people to try and get what he wants.

I think it’s harsh to be using words like ‘tittle tattle’ to describe potential victims of abuse who have clearly been preyed on.

I see John Sopel is defending him in some interviews today. Even News night were investigating complaints about Edwards allegedly (it was in some paper today) .
It begs the question , how many more Media & TV personalities and presenters in positions of power and influence are there like this still at large, unchecked..

The question that isn't being asked ...

... would Edwards have checked himself into a hospital*, indefinitely, if the parents hadn't raised the alarm.

Or would he have just carried on regardless.

*N.B. I'm not suggesting this hospital is in the south of France, with a capacity of six people, where he's benefitting from the sea air, pool and private gardens with his family around him.

No problem mate, I thought that might be the case.

You'll have to excuse me, I was told I was being followed around the threads by some weirdo I have on ignore. When I looked, sure enough he'd singled me out, on here, and totally ignored the subject of the thread.

He's even quoting my posts as if I can see what he's saying ...

... there should be a double ignore feature <laugh>

When you looked?

So I'm not on ignore really, you can see what I'm saying and you've just forfeited your right to reply to me.

<doh>

I think we both know the answer to that one....

I don't want to reply to you and I don't want to know what you're saying. I was told, by another poster, you'd followed me onto this thread purely to have another go at me. That's not the debate you keep pretending that's all you want.

Just go away, you sad little weirdo, and stop following me around the forum. I stopped responding to you because other posters had said how boring it was. You said you'd stop but you didn't. Now you're still replying to my posts even though I can only see that if I choose to look. As I already know what your response would be, in almost every case, I don't.

There's a growing band of people ignoring you, while posters like FellTop, Saff, etc, who share many of your views don't find themselves ignored and people happily debate with them while vehemently disagreeing.

Doesn't that ever make you think.

P.S. sorry to people on this thread, who are trying to discuss the subject.

Let's just correct that, shall we? Before we get back to the Huw and cry.

You and others spent months calling me every name under the sun under the guise of 'vehement disagreement', and the first time you got anything remotely similar to what you'd been dishing out back you couldn't take it. Anyone who cares to look back on the Boris thread will see the evidence.

I'm also sorry for the people on this thread, because they're now getting the workie ticket replies from you by the looks of it. For someone who doesn't want conflict you don't half seem to fall out with a lot of people.

Good to know you're still looking though. And you'll keep seeing me replying to you, because I didn't give up my right to do that, even though what you called me was far worse that Mister Tickets.

This is the point.

However weird, and possibly worse, Edwards' behaviour has been, it is the BBC who are also in the dock here.

It is the BBC who appear to have a complaints procedure that seeks delay, obfuscation and cover up over the compmainant and even the "defendant". And 'twas ever thus.

There will be another inquiry where more lessons will be claimed to have been learned but will not be followed.

I can have sympathy on a personal level for Edwards if his illness leads him to this dreadful behaviour, though much more for the targets of his unhealthy attentions. But no sympathy at all for an institution, the BBC, which forcibly extracts money from people, poor or not.

On some of their numerous recent adverts about themselves they like to crow about being "Our BBC", seeking to curry public approval.

It's not mine, I don't want it and many feel the same. No-one should be forced into paying for it.

OK you've had your say, yet again, now stop following me around the board.

Leave it to other people 'now getting the workie ticket replies' to decide how and if they wish to respond. They're adults and don't need you stalking me around policing the threads.

This is your third post on this thread, none on topic and all about me. You even went on one thread to correct a spelling mistake ffs.

Give it a rest and get a life away from here ffs.

I'm not talking about Edwards now, just generally.

There's a tendency lately to use any kind of mental issue as a possible reason for whatever kind of behaviour is exhibited.
I'm pretty sure a pervert without depression can become one with depression ...

... and endless people suffering from depression who never transgress in any way.

I dont disagree the BBC have questions to answer. The Sun too are firmly in the dock for me. They are wriggling like a worm on a hook and they know that first headline will likely lead to a world of pain for them. If it is true they ignored the claim of the young person that the story was not true, and printed anyway, then I question their motives even more. It would be nice to see some changes to our media because it is has become pretty spiteful over the years.

If the BBC were a horse racing stable, there would be stewards inquiry after inquiry. The have learned nothing from Saville. The person who has caused all of the media speculation this past week is one man, Huw Edwards. Not the boys family, not the Sun or even the BBC. There will undoubtedly be more people and dare I say worse still to be exposed in all the major broadcasters. Edwards is just another tip of many icebergs

And I've posted several times on topic on this thread.
