That's a complete disgrace. That will price a fair few fans out of going to games. In comparison with my ST, it works out at less than £16 a game for me. I dread to think how much clubs are going to set away ticket prices at for us.
Looks like Leeds are going down the route of loaning out players, rather than selling. I don't know if that's because they're struggling to sell them, or because they want to keep them on their books in case they bounce straight back up. But, either way, it's not going to add too much to their transfer budget this season. Us and Leicester could both have a healthy advantage over them in that respect.
ITV apparently planning to downsize EFL highlights to a goals only show. A reminder if ever needed that they should never be given rights for any sports. Bring back Manish.
Possibly BBC as Adam Blackmore is the commentator. Sky also do a highlights video but I'm not sure if they still do that for teams outside the Premiership.
Got to be beneficial, shifting players who won't be at the club for the upcoming season as early as possible. Our squad must be getting to the point it will be too large and some players won't be able to be registered?
It's just really hard to know about these sort of things from the outside. All we can do is hypothesise. My take is that there might well be half a dozen players who are still on the fence, regards staying or going. The likes of Stephens, Tella, Bednarek, Adams etc. These are all players who we would do well to keep, and letting them get a feel for a new manager, a bit of preseason optimism etc, might just be what convinces them to stay. If we forced everyone into making a decision immediately, just a week after the new manager has joined, then I'd think we'd likely lose most of those who are undecided.
Oh I completely agree. But at this rate our first XI against Sheff Weds will differ wildly from our first game in September. The only 2 that seem certain to leave right now (that we'd like to keep...) are Lavia and Perraud as we have already signed/ nearly signed their replacements.
Lavia, yes, Perraud I don't know about that. 46 league games plus hopefully some cup runs this season. I'd be worried if we only have Larios as our back-up left back. But yeah, he'll probably want to be first choice somewhere.
We have 6 first team full backs all probably good enough to start in the championship. Plus 2 under 21s decent enough back ups. No way we will keep all of them nor do we need to... I know the championship isn't an easy league, but it is no way as hard as some are making it out to be. Burnley romped it last year and we have much better players than they did going down when you see who they lost.
I'm taking it as a given that KWP goes. Larios looked good for sure, no doubt capable in the Champ, but not sure if he is top 2 quality. Manning/Perraud/Bree/Tino all are. Also, he's had a lengthy injury lay-off, so might struggle with fitness/injuries for a while.
Not sure about Perraud. Don't forget he suffered a nasty injury end of last season (was it an ankle fracture, maybe? Can't remember exactly) and there's been no sign of him this preseason. Can't see any clubs investing in a badly injured player who doesn't appear to be making inroads to a return.
Just doesn't make sense given the huge drop in revenue we have to have so many fullbacks that would walk in to most championship sides. Seems bizarre to sign Manning, regardless of his ability, when it is one of strongest areas on the pitch if we don't know a few players are off.
How is it though? Perraud had a very hit and miss season in and out of the team, and ended it with a bad injury. And Larios missed most of last season injured so we had to play players out of position to cover more often then not. That was regularly KWP who until his form finally dropped, is an able deputy, but not as good at LB as at RB and left the team unbalanced. As far as I can see Perraud is still injured (and many think likely to leave, the club will have a far better idea on this than us so will be planning based on this), and Larios is still very young. Makes perfect sense to bring Manning in to me. KWP is a RB but as he can, and has played LB many times for us I'll include him too, highly likely to leave (who dyes their hair purple for the Championship).
