I don't mind him keeping his place, but absurd he's still going to keep.

5th century of the season for the 19 year old! How many 1st Class double centuries have there been by 19 year olds?

How can you let a team go from 80-5 to 489-9? Absolutely pathetic.

Good thing is that they've gone on way too long. We're already well into day two. The forecast looks dodgy for after tea, and dodgy for tomorrow. And the boundary is tiny.

No wonder Vince is bowling. If Somerset really wanted to try and win this, they should have declared by now. But they have history of this...

Great effort lads, and a big shout out to Shoaib Bashir for a very impressive 44 no.

TBH as long as we bat properly there's still useful points to be had in this match. We did get all 3 bowling points and the boundaries are small so we should be looking to take 3 or 4 batting points as well.

That's very much taking the positive viewpoint, and then some more.

Since the points for a draw was reduced down to 5, the best a side can hope to take from a draw is 13 points (but probably less). Whereas a win will almost certainly lead to at least 19 points (and probably more). Unless you're competing against a direct opponent, there is much less value in trying to salvage a draw these days. Yes it would be nice if we could, but I'm really not fussed if we draw or lose from here. It's win or nothing cricket - and the option of winning has clearly gone for us.

Weatherley is so bad at red ball cricket. Criminal that we recalled him.
