Some people on here still can't embrace Joey Barton as a true QPR player; when Diouf was available earlier the mere prospect of him being mentioned as a possible signing caused uproar on this board and more. Which brings me to the question; is there any player that if he signed for us would cause you to seriously consider withdrawing your support for the team until he went?
Morning twins. The fact is football fans are fickle. Look at how yesterday's hero (AT), is today's villain (well, not quite villain perhaps but certainly out of favour). I suspect if John Terry, Marlon King or, dare I say, even EHD (initials only - 'he who shall not be named'!) joined the club. After a goal or two, some would be chanting their names. In just the same way as no player is too big for the club (Fergie kicking out Becks), perhaps no player is too small / low for a club either? It's the club's success that matters and that tends to overide such preferences. Having said all of that, I would struggle to sing support for the likers of EHD but it would not stop my support or coming to games.
If King was signed, my support would wane until he left - and my respect for management would take a dive - A truly repentant sex offender that does his time I can take - an unrepentant one I can't.
If we signed Luke McCormick I would definitely stop going. He's the Plymouth goalie who killed two young boys, and seriously injured their father whilst drink-driving.
Keep the faith to what we have become . I will do the same to Barton as a player when he grabs a game by the neck for us credit when it's due isn't a hard thing to do in my book Diouf has eaten himself so he had to live with that but was a good footballer once Off the field not too bothered as we are then all the same and we have all made mistakes I would guess who are we to judge I believe that it's how you adapt to change ... Worldwide right now there are the very worse things happening Gary Linker could easily still turn out to be a mass murderer .. You never know and there is plenty of time as we face testing times now in the west .
I think the difference between Barton and some of the names mentioned above is that Barton seems to want to change and readily admits to being a twat in the past. For that you have to give him credit.
Gary Lineker lives in Esher. They don't have mass murderers in Esher. Mass commuters is about as close as you get...
I don't think an individual player could turn my away from the R's - we discussed Vinnie yesterday and it doesn't get any lower than that. However, if we had to put up with continual violence in and outside the ground, the National Front organizing large sections of the support and general obnoxiousness among a majority of the fans then that would make even a 47-year veteran like me think twice. This is exactly what Chelsea supporters had to put up with for the best part of 25 years of course. I genuinly do not understand the supporters who lived through that and turned a blind eye week after week.
They are no different than the Germans who stood by and watched the Brown Shirts herd Jews into the ghettos before Hitler came up with the Final Solution. Association constitutes guilt, therefore all Chelsea supporters are racist, knuckle dragging hooligans. It's a fact, look it up. They speak very highly of us though!
Another candidate is David Goodwillie anyone that openly brags about their private bits would put right off of going.
