There’s no doubt his intentions were good and his passion undoubtedly there. He has certainly contributed to the highs and the lows; the frustrations and the joys. It’s also cost him a lot of money. So there has to be some thanks to him amidst the chaos. We move on.
I think I'm a bit sad about this. I associate TF with passion for the club and, of course, Wembley, riding on Barton's shoulders.
News, but sort of not news too in that he's been steadily reducing his shareholding for years. I'm not surprised or sad. Brewery, piss up, couldn't organise. Or something like that.
What might have been. The reality is we have gone backwards since he took over. Decent guy that got it all wrong.

I think his heart was in the right place, remember he saved us from Tango and the Midget and their awful idea of boutique football, he poured a lot of money into the club, instead of attempting to reach the promised land on a suitable budget and time table he went at it like a lunatic which ultimately landed us in the mess we’re currently in financially, added to that his complete inability to appoint a manager who actually cared or one who was actually capable of sustainable improvement in the long run has also left us in a mess where managers with a decent reputation won’t touch us with a barge pole and we’re left shopping at the bargain bucket for players with no reputation or those desperate for a last payday !!! All in all I’d give him a 4 / 10 for ability and 8 / 10 for passion. Let’s hope things now improve with his departure, but somehow think we’re in a rut and it’s going to take a miracle to get out of it.
I feel quite sad, had all the right intentions and always thought he loved the club. Yes made some shocking decisions but how many of those decisions were his ideas? Prefer to have him than some faceless Arab with **** loads of money all day long
Outside from Air Asia it seems a number of his projects have somewhat failed. A nice chap and passionate about the club. Far too trusting and reliant on numerous below par football advisors who have cost him dearly.
He came to our club as a starstruck football fan (like many of us) and not a cynical businessman. We've all moved on since then, but there have been some very good times, so thanks for those, Tony, and good luck for the future.
Not bothered that he's gone if I'm truly honest. A major factor in why this club is in the state it's in.
Question is who do we want to get his shares? Hopefully some good due process carried out prior to them getting snaffled up by some dodgy Thai businessman...
He can't have sold his shares unless someone has bought them. Glaring omission from the statement. I presume it is the one or more of the other existing shareholders.
Every time they have converted debt into equity in recent accounts his shareholding has been diminished and Ruben's Gnanalingam's has increased. So basically he's given Ruben his share slowly over time by Ruben buying his debt.
As many have said, decent guy who knew too little about football, trusted too many and spent too much in the wrong way. Thanks TF, you certainly did try ...................maybe too hard. Onwards and upwards for our club.
It’s reported that he’s ‘sold’ his shares. It’s a mystery to me who would buy shares which condemn you to paying a portion of £500k a week to keep the club operating. Either Rueben or the American bloke Reilly will have picked them up I suppose. Can’t imagine Mittal wanting any more exposure/risk on this. Rueben is majority shareholder I think.
