I think with Jimmy it will depend on what weather is expected, I know the heart says he should play, but if the ball isn't likely to swing then Tongue is the better bet.

They need to think about what to do with the number three slot.

Brook doesn't want to bat there; Moheen filled in second innings but I don't think that's a sensible option unless it's an in-game choice. Putting Foakes in at three could be an option although he's never batted there for England before.

As wicket keeper James Rew is going to be a star.

He's only 19, so probably needs couple more years in the CC.

Two Brits and a Belgian on the podium, also the 480,000 attendance over the course of the GP is some going. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

Yes I think I would, he is a bit hit and miss batting wise and not the best with the gloves.

There was talk on the radio that Stokes might have a test off to try and sort some of the injuries he's carrying. Now its 2-1 I doubt that will happen.

I’m just relieved that the gloating twats from down under are quite a while.

I had a look at the odds at the start of this match, and they showed both sides level, and not very generous odds.

I was going to back England as those running the show wouldn't want to dead games coming up, so needed an England win to keep ticket sales up.

Foakes needs to come in but hard work asking him to keep wicket and bat 3. I’d personally shift them all up one place and put Foakes at 7.

Makes sense but Root doesn't like batting at three any more than Brook does.

Brook, Stokes, Ali and Root have all played there for England with differing success. Root the most successful so if you're not going to bring in a specialist number 3 (not that there's many options there) then Root is probably the best option.

The problem is Ern'... Root definitely doesn't fit the Biz ball criteria... he';s becoming Boycottesque..

    The odd ramp shot aside...

Root is such a good player he should be left to just play his natural game. He still scores quickly.

Exactly this. BazBall isn’t about slavingishly slogging at all times. It’s about freedom and permission to play your natural game.
