Reports in some media are saying that the FSB threatened his family - which is why he turned around.

Putin, if you can really believe any news from Russia, looks like he has taken back control of what looked like a dicey situation for his tenure but the next several days may shed more information. What might happen next is a blind stab in the dark but instability in a nuclear country has to be seen as very dangerous for the peace so many want, but the welcome the Wagner troops got in Rostov was also scary for me not knowing whether the people were cheering someone who opposed Putin or were they just pleased that another murderous group were in their midst? Take your pick would be my guess.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says an alleged Russian agent involved in the deadly attack in Kramatorsk will be charged with treason.
Those helping Russia destroy lives deserve the "maximum penalty", he said.
Twelve people, including three teenagers, were killed in Tuesday's missile strike on a popular restaurant.
Ukraine said the man, a resident of Kramatorsk, sent video footage of the restaurant to the Russian military hours before it was destroyed.

So it seems these areas of non military significance are being targeted because Russian supporters / spies are sending the details to be attacked!

Why do they need videos, surely if they wanted to target the centre of Kramatorsk they don’t need videos to do it. They did say this particular restaurant was used by soldiers, maybe that’s the kind of intel Russia is interested in and why this particular building was targeted. Disgusting to target an area used predominantly by civilians, yet another war crime.

I thought that the Russians targeted that building because they wanted to attack some NATO ‘advisors’ who it was alleged were inside.
Even if true, the deliberate targeting of NATO personnel, with intent to kill, inside a restaurant in an independent sovereign nation could be seen as an act of war.
It would be similar the other way around; Russia was opposed to the invasion of Iraq - if the allies had deliberately targeted a building in Iraq during the invasion in order to kill Russians they believed were in there, I suspect Russia would have been a bit annoyed.

The news hitting the headlines just seem to get worse in respect to the targets being hit by Russia and the list of war crimes continues to rise. I am not sure what is happening with the safe haven in Belarus for the Wagner chief but the appearance of an encampment seemingly showing a large number of tents is somewhat worrying. Will there be a second attempt to take down Kiev after the laughable invasion to start this senseless war and is the West being taken for fools by all these claims of plots and counter plots based around Prigozhin's mindset during the march on Moscow? Many are saying that Putin has been permanently damaged in the eyes of his population due to his lack of action during the supposed rebellion but is it all a ploy on the part of a man who is very well known for his lies and deception?

On a slightly different tack, even though it is on the same geographical area of the world, I watched a documentary yesterday about the close ties between Boris the clown and the son of a well known Russian ex-KGB officer who is now in the House of Lords. I thought I was watching a fairy tale evolve and the goings-on between Johnson and his regular visits to Umbria to attend lavish parties is so far out in left field to ask some serious questions as to what was actually going on in private and does it border on treason? The parallels between Johnson and Trump get more obvious by the day especially when you consider all of the secret knowledge they both had whilst cavorting with people who possibly had ill intent. My thoughts on Boris are tempered a little by my location and the lack of in depth coverage of the day to day machinations of the political system back in England but I am starting to think the Johnson and Blair need to face investigation into their involvements with senior government officials of countries that do not have the best interests of the U.K. in their hearts or minds. How much longer will we sit by and let these politicians run rampant over the rights of it's citizens by doing back door business with criminals and feathering their own nests at the expense of national security? I have often wondered about the psyche of Boris Johnson and now I know for sure he is all about himself and to hell with you lot. Moan over for now, but how long ago were the revelations shown in the documentary released and whilst I am here wasn't there another House of Lords appointment for some Arabic person that didn't pass the smell test?

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin - who led a short-lived rebellion in Russia last month - is in Russia and not Belarus, the leader of Belarus says.
Prigozhin's whereabouts have been a mystery since the mutiny.
Under the deal to end the stand-off, charges against him were dropped and he was offered a move to Belarus.
But on Thursday Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko said: "As for Prigozhin, he's in St Petersburg. He is not on the territory of Belarus."
In response to Mr Lukashenko's remarks the Kremlin said it was "not following" Prigozhin's movements!

    What
is going on here then? Reports and photo's indicate masses of temts in Belarussia ex army base but no Wagner! Wagner troops reported as being back in Ukraine occupied base camps!!!
Ukraine is slowly making ground but at what cost? some Russian held areas see their troops not up for the fight, when under pressure they fall back, other areas well dug in and surrounded by 100's of square miles of minefields. This is proving a bit of a problem to advance , but does mean the Ruskies are surprised when attacks come at unexpected angles!
So far no western satellite pictures of the "reported" anomalies on the reactors at ZAPHORIZIA? have they been carefully covered over so as to be part of the dome?.. if there only a close up might show. UN inspectors are not allowed full access to site certain areas.. where Ruskies are hiding troops or things are off bounds!!

at least once a week deliberate attacks on civilian infra structure ... blatant war crimes.. done mostly overnight when people are asleep, an attempt to disrupt the pattern of calmness in areas of non military activity and to wear down stocks of air defence weaponary.

UK special forces under investigation for war crimes! there can be no favouritism as the future will undoubtably have 000's against the ruskies... and top officials. A comment, third party, stated that warrants from the ICC are not necessarily published in advance, and that there is probably dozens if not hundreds already to be actioned when the unsuspecting are in a ICC country. South Africa isand Putin cant go there without fear of arrest!!

A cluster munition is a form of air-dropped or ground-launched explosive weapon that releases or ejects smaller submunitions. Commonly, this is a cluster bomb that ejects explosive bomblets that are designed to kill personnel and destroy vehicles. Other cluster munitions are designed to destroy runways or electric power transmission lines, disperse chemical or biological weapons, or to scatter land mines. Some submunition-based weapons can disperse non-munitions, such as leaflets.
On 7 December 2022, it was revealed that Ukraine was seeking access to US stockpiles of cluster munitions, due to a shortage of ammunition for HIMARS type and 155 mm artillery systems. The US has stockpiled its cluster munitions and had been considering the Ukrainian request. Ukraine claimed it would give them an edge over Russian artillery, as well as preventing depletion of other US and Western stocks.

On 6 July 2023, U.S. president Joe Biden approved the provision of cluster munitions to Ukraine, bypassing U.S. law prohibiting the transfer of cluster munitions with a failure rate greater than one percent.[ According to the Pentagon, Ukraine will receive an "improved" version of cluster munitions with a failure rate of about 2 percent, while the Russian cluster bombs fail at 40 percent or more.

ABOVE ...JUST A COUPLE NOTES REGARDING CLUSTER AMMO!

Cluster ammo can have numerous bomblets depending on target! they are very sophisticated nowadays and some are guided! Guess would be that type supplied would be armour piercing and vehicle damaging type and anti trench covering ... this would save Himars and other precision weaponery . Can also be used to help clear mine fields ... some have delay fuses of up to 48 hours or so!

Heard a piece on n the tv last night by a US munitions expert, they are designed to clear armoured vehicles, the casing is manufactured specifically to break into shrapnel fragments which also then takes out any soldiers. The main issue is obviously the amount of failures they have, even two percent is one heck of a lot. They then can be set off by innocent civilians, they are red and therefore attractive to children.

The UK along with more than another 120 countries have signed a treaty banning their use, much of NATO is amongst these countries , USA is not one of them. IMO NATO should insist the USA doesn’t send them to Ukraine.

there is quite a few different types 2% can be quite a lot but the shells if these are most supplied would have a mix of maybe 2 types, so numerically the % seems a lot but mabe down as low as 4 in some cases... Russian type featured a year ago had estimated 800 !! so as many as 200 plus could be misfires! I think the weight is around 2kg to 9kg will look it at some point

I apologise I edited my post shortly after you replied to me. Imo NATO should pressure the USA not to send them to Ukraine

In part I would agree... but the image people have of cluster ammo is killing civilians .. enhanced by the occassions Russian s have used them in the anti civilian terror campaign Kharkiv etc the picture shows the unspent one which is anti personel sized .. there would be 100's inot over a 1 -2 000 in each casing. they would spread over about 100+ metres the one in the pic if memory serves was grey not a bright colour

Bakhmut .. bloodiest battle of the war possibly over 25000 dead on Russian side and now the offensive has all but recovered the high ground it seems...
please log in to view this image

Should UKRAINE manage to join up those 2 main areas there is going to be a lot of prisoners or dead bodies to add to the Russian grave yards . [ some media reports telegram observations indicate there is a lot of uncared fatalities left in situ by Russia / Wagner? Further south the HQ of the self styled RUSSIAN republic of the Donbas [ Donetsk ] is just a mile or so from the front line.

The next few weeks will be interesting, now that the latest weapons have joined the Arsenal and France is dispatching longer range more powerful missiles ..... solidarity amonst Nato .... G7 Ppromising long term help .. Zelensky in power till after the treaty is signed ... whenever!

does not seem a lot 81 sq miles thats an area encompassed by 12 x 7 miles approx: But is not all in 1 place!
Kerch bridge ..is this one of more attacks on this bridge? One thing is sure will paint a dodgy picture to Russian holiday makers planning to soak up the Black sea sunshine on the many holiday camps in Crimea!
Damage doesnt look a lot and could easily be repaired .. or is the attack this time on a casson that supports the deck in which case might be a longer repair!
The fact they Ukraine? if them ... cough cough are responsible the naval drone attack was practiced sometime ago against a couple of ships!
Russia again holds the world ransom with the throttling of grain exports. The black sea is international waters to a point! so providing ships get into IW's they can be protected against attack!! but that would as controversial as Russia attacking them maybe time for a double bluff!

latest is mixed signals from Russia! Russian heirarcy says grain will stop but apparently Putrid says no ... another divide!

not as simple as that I think 130 or so countries signed up to a convention that does not make or use them. Russia didnt so USA didnt [ Ukraine is not signed up either ] Cluster bombs are as they say " a cluster of smaller munitions " but the number in each discharge varies immensely and there are over a dozen? different types of munition from anti personel upwards .
RUSSIAN POSITIONS are in trench's under cover mostly the type supplied will be able to penetrate the "protection" issue! ?
