So would I, my point was more that if he did, would we accept? Do we need him now, and could we afford him, and if we could, to what expense to the rest of the squad.

If Kalas accepted a reduced salary, pretty sure Nige would, as Keegan once said, 'I'd LOVE it'.
    And so would I.
Kalas on 1 leg is better than Vyner.

Kalas, when fit, was one of our better players but the injury bug hit him too hard too often for him to be considered a longer term asset and now apparently could be discarded. I think Vyner has come on in leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons but I still see inconsistencies that linger enough for me to question as to the part he might play going forward, but full marks to him for his efforts to improve. I can't really see other Championship teams beating down the door to get Zak but if we up the ante in the outgoing department to increase our buying pot then he could very well leave for a top class League One outfit where he would do well. Too many of our previous magic player purchases have fallen flat on their faces and I would count Mehmet and Cornick high up on that list because from what I saw last season they didn't bring much to the squad. If we truly want to be a contender this upcoming season we can't afford to play around with potential top class players as we need that from day one and onwards. No wannabees or injury prone players are needed to fight this season's campaign as we want everyone up and running with full commitment at every kick-off in every match, and nothing less will do.

You can resist your single view on Vyner can you.... I would have Vyner and Kalas as the 2 starting CBs

Read the QPR fan's view of Dickie, they are mostly not sorry to see him go due to the amount of errors, and general poor form. Sometimes, better the devil you know. Look at Naismith, bought from a Play-Off side where he played LB, was moved to LCB in a 3 for us, and was largely awful in that position, constantly caught in possession, or had passes cut out, putting us on the back foot. To be fair though, he has fared better from the little we saw of him in Def Mid role, so maybe this season will be his year for us..

I read he did well the first year, then changed to a more long ball game and he struggled, he’s a ball playing CB who brings the ball out, breaks the lines. He didn’t adapt well to playing long balls.

Who knows, I will judge him playing for us. We certainly need cover there and he certainly fits he bill.

Mark Cavendish.. a real sporting tryer and hero to a lot! EXCEPTING for his horrific injury a few years back he well have set a record number of sprint it would take years if not decades to equal .. equal is where he is at needs 1 more to be the all time leader! could it be today?
He is in a weak team but cfould easily tag onto to a sprint orientated lead out team and fly at the finish if he did win would he retire before the serious mountain stages? or go onto Paris as his swansong!

I completely agree with this post, I’ve a feeling Benarous is going to be a star, injuries allowing, I also think Conway will be worth more than Scott, being he’s a forward.,i need convincing in relation to Mehmeti , not saying he won’t come on leaps and bounds, just not seen enough of him. I can’t remember having so many quality young players coming through together, don’t underestimate them. I also like Bell, he’s a bit behind Conway in his all round play, but is a quality finisher.exciting times. COYR

From his interviews it doesn’t seem personal, it’s just that the way NP sees it is he wants players that will bust a gut for the team, players that accept that it’s a squad game and there will be times when they aren’t in the first 11, times when they’ll be needed as subs to come on and change a game, everyone in the squad is a equal member of the squad and who’s willing to give their all, if their are players that for whatever reason don’t go along with this philosophy he’d rather they weren’t there.

I couldn't have put it better, good old fashioned ethics but the time has come for results, history has gone, past regimes have gone, HNM has gone, Nige will be gone if we don't get results, he has not been offered a new contract yet, it's a funny old game. (Greavsie)

We will get a payout if HNM goes to Leeds - let’s hope he does.

Agree, as I said in a previous post he’s got a balance of experience and youth, he’s got a team of players willing to fight for the shirt, a team of his players that he’s chose, we’ve had time to reset, now they have to push on, for me top 10 min, pushing for top 6, my heart says top 6, my head top 10. If we aren’t in that ball park, if I was SL I’d be asking why not? .

I’ve read we’ll get more if he stays in this country than we will if he goes abroad, so like you I hope he goes to Leeds.

I like many others on here like Nige, he has sorted out the moras he, we inherited, time has moved on, 8th or above minimum for me personally but top ten for the club would be good progress, no questions asked.

I think (open to correction) that we get sweet nothing if he goes abroad.
We only get paid if he signs here in England (not sure we would even get anything if he went to Scotland)
