You must of seen (or at least heard) these a load of times @Smug in Boots . They played Rock City loads. When I was late teens Rock City always had a full page advert in 'metal hammer', never made it there but always wanted to.
You're right mate, I was very lucky with who I saw although I had to do the work to get me in of course. I first saw Rage Against the Machine in what was called 'Disco Two' downstairs that held about 200 people. They were absolutely explosive and obviously going to be massive. The bookings manager was smart enough to book them for the following year and, sure enough, they sold out the main hall, 2000 capacity, in minutes. It was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. No fireworks, no big light show or anything ... ... just an incredible front man, great musicians and one superb track after another with no audience chit chat in between. Wow!!!
Currently listening to Aha Shake Heartbreak thanks to @Smug in Boots mention of them in another thread Not listened to it for bloody ages and its still terrific...so much so that I've just ordered it on vinyl!
That reminds me of when I was making YouTube videos of GTAO and used The Bucket for one of the soundtracks. Love that song. Feel free to neither like or subscribe it's been 7 years and I don't think any new content is forthcoming
